Clawmaster,
If you had asked me this question back in the early sixties when I was
watching the Bolos on tv ,I would have said I don't have a clue. But
according to Jody Hamilton's book,Tom Renesto became the Great Bolo
for Jim Crockett Sr. in 1958, three years before I discovered wrestling.
Mr. Hamilton devoted a chapter of his book to the time he and Tom Renesto
spent here as the Great Bolo and Bolo during the sixties.

THE GREAT BOLO was ALWAYS Tom Renesto in JCP, and later the addition of Jody Hamilton as partner BOLO. Perhaps that's why Lovelock sued Renesto and Crockett over 'character' infringement.
