I don't think so. I don't think that Al Perez began until; the mid 80's.

Alex Perez and Al Perez are two different wrestlers. The Alex Perez listed here was a longtime West Texas staple. I saw him wrestle in Los Angeles when Gory Guerrero had the book and was pushing his son Chavo to the moon. Alex had an ex boxer gimmick in Los Angeles. They billed him as Alex KO (kayo) Perez.

Actually, 1930 rassler Cal Farley started the Boys Ranch.  Dory Sr just worked there and helped support the ranch through his life.  Cal Farley vs Jack Williams NWAssociation welterweight champion set an outdoor attendance record for Texas on June7 1933 in Amarillo for their rasslin match.

Perez was a legit boxer back in the day.  Quite good too, IIRC.  Maybe a Golden Gloves champ?  SOH.
