"worked attendance"
Jan 27th, 2007, 6:51pm

I wonder how often the attendance was worked on these Lubbock cards (no offense intended).  If Nick paid a gate percentage what was the percentage or as we have all heard from the wrestlers themselves that the promoters "worked" the numbers to pay a smaller dollar amount.  I'd like to see Nickla chime in on this forum to give some of her insight from both sides of the fence.

Thanks.

There wasn't any "working" the numbersin my Dad's promotion.  With a promotion that ran every week in the same building you knew how many people were in there just by looking.  Also if you could not already tell,
my Dad took meticulous records.  We had a Shriner type group as our gate keepers and Dad kept the ticket stubs for years.
We had a ticket seller that was somehow letting in about 10 people per week and keeping the money.  My Dad caught her by counting all the ticket stubs and finding where the numbers were off. He knew the house was off by about $50 and found out about it...
