Like everything else, it's hard to believe it's been that long.  I've got the follow up interview/angle and Flair's recap of the match on DVD.   I think it deserves watching.

best promo i ever saw piper do, was that that you mention where piper tries to give the TV title to flair....priceless.

Wow, I've never seen any of that footage at all.  I'm going to have to seek out some footage from the very early 80s at the next Fanfest.

it is incredible. piper is at his best in his smirking, bragging, and  SOB mode on this interaction with flair.

I have seen footage of that, and your right it was priceless. I can not believe that was 26 years ago though, time has flew by. I was refelcting on Smokey Mountain Wrestling the other day and did realize all that was over 10 years ago now, it seems like yesterday when all that was going on.

I've got that on VHS, Flair doing commentary on the film of Piper beating him for the belt, then the confrontation where Piper tries to give him the TV title.

Piper's like "it's an early Christmas present, I'm just like Santa Claus" or something like that!

And when he says that Flair's backstage, and he's crying, and his nose is so big he's probably drowning from his nose running, that whole segment is priceless!

That piece of footage is awesome....Piper actually becomes the most obnoxious, childish, neurotic human being on the planet....he's just going off the deep end....and poor old Flair essentially has his hands tied as he has to play straight-man babyface. Piper at one point does some kind of bizarre mannerism, which I THINK is supposed be an impression of Flair going 'whooo!', which is actually the funniest thing I've ever seen....

Oh when Roddy is going "woo woo"...... "I don't hear any 'woo woo' "

Man, I can't give enough praise to this piece of business.  The funny thing is, from my standpoint, this little gem is better than most of the matches you'll find on TV today.
