I first saw Abe in the early sixties on th JCP tv shows.Abe was an excellent
technical wrestler, very fast and agile. His finisher was the "Kiwi roll". He
wrestled Lou Thesz,Gene Kiniski and Dory Funk Jr. for the NWA World Title
in the sixties.

Abe Jacobs also did a lot of tag team work in JCP. A couple of my favorite
partners for him in the 1964-65 timeframe were Emil Dupre and Dale Lewis.

Abe Jacobs appeared to always be in tip top physical condition. He never
seemed to change. One of the good guys.

He was my all time favorite when I used to live in Charlotte.  Besides the Kiwi roll, he had one of the cleanest  and strongest Drop Kicks used at that time, in my opinion.  And he always seemed to be a very humble and friendly star.

I have wanted to send a Fan letter to him since I still see him listed on many Web Sites.  Does anyone know where or how to get a Fan letter to someone like him?

Indeed, Abe Jacobs is still in Charlotte. Last time I spoke with him was last fall and he seems to be doing well. Always a super person and a guy I have a tremendous amount of respect for.

Here is one from my Crockett program that was produced in early 1965.
The photo may have been taken much earlier than that though.

A 1971 main event for Abe Jacobs in Burlington,NC. This match got a pretty
good buildup on tv.

Just off the top of my head I am going to say around 1983. Though it could
have been later. My memory could be way off on this.

I think that his last MACW was in June 1983, in Columbia, SC, when he lost to Vinnie Valentino.

I guess it would be time to hang it up if you lost to Vinnie Valentino.
