1970's FLorida

I got to watch a lot of 1970's FL TV in Johnstown, PA.  We had a channel that had wrestling 5 nights a week  at 11 PM  (Mid Atlantic, FL, Detroit and the rest WWWF)
the TV show was well done with Giordon Solie and even the enhancement guys seemed top notch compared to WWWF back then.

I have about 6/7 DVD's of 70's Florida and they're some of my favourite things to watch

I started watching wrestling from Florida in the early 70s, it was on Wtlv channel 12 here in Jacksonville Florida. I miss watching Gordon Solie and how he called the matches, he was the best at it. The interviews were always great but I truly miss when they had matches every Thursday Night In the Jacksonville Colisseum. I met Gordon one Thursday night, I think I was around 7 or 8, he shook my hand. I met him again many years later at a wcw house show in Tallahassee, he remembered me and autographed my ticket. He was very nice and I will always miss him.

I've seen some early 80's Florida wrestling like Dusty and Blackjack Mulligan feuding with the Zambouixie Express and Kevin Sullivan feuding with Dusty including the cage match on Christmas night Jake Roberts appeared as a fake Santa Claus and helped Sulivan.  A heel Santa! LOL!!!!

My question for anyone here is how different was 70's Florida wrestling from the stuff I mentioned seeing and in what way, if any, was the style of 70's Florida wrestling different from 80's Florida wrestling?

70s Florida was mostly Gordon Solie by himself, Buddy Colt and Ms Clary, sorry if I misspelled her last name came along later, the matches wer, Eddie Graham booked the matches and whomever the Nwa world Champion was usually had a match on Tv later when flair became Champ he wresltled less on Tv, there wasn't a whole lot of difference up until most of the wrestlers stayed with WCW and rarely if ever returned to Fl Wrestling. My guess that was around the mid 80s.

there wasnt alot if differance up to 85 but after 85 WCW kinda stripped the talent pool as both windham and luger the last 2 big names jumped to nwa/wcw.  florida got swallowed up like uwf and there wasnt much left of the territories after that.  dusty did try to rivive florida with his own version but that was gone by 89.  still nothing was better than gordon solie and he was a god behind the mic.
