My first event was in August of 1988 at the Norfolk Scope in Norfolk, Va.

Both NWA Pro (with Bob Caudle and Jim Ross) and World Wide (with David Crockett and Tony Schiavone) were doing TV tapings.

The non-televised matches were as follows:

NWA World Tag Team Title: Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard v/s Midnight Express (Bobby Eaton and Stan Lane)....if memory serves me correct, I want to say this ended in a double DQ

United States Title: Barry Windham v/s Nikita Koloff (Windham wins)

NWA World Title: Ric Flair v/s Lex Luger (Luger wins by DQ following interference from the Horsemen)

Yes, AngryJohnny. That was the rundown of the matches. Hogan vs. Savage took place right before intermission. The card closed with the tag team title match

RICHMOND COLISEUM NWA 87-88. I was 5 or 6 at the time... I remember we had to move our seats because of a roof leak.... I also recall the SheepHerders involved in a barbwire match. I think Sting fought Flair but I'm not sure. I still have the wrestling program somewhere which had Luger on the cover.

Someone once told me, it was a Clash show but I don't think it was...If anyone has any info on this show, please do tell.

My first Live NWA.JCP card was February 2, 1986 at the Omni in Atlanta. I was 11 years old. It was a house how/ taping of the first "Superstars on the Superstation" TBS special.

Baron Von Raschke beat the Italian Stallion
the Barbarian vs Ron Bass was a 20 minute draw
Jimmy Valiant beat Arn Anderson by over the top rope DQ
Midnight Express beat Rock n Roll Express for World Tag Title
Road Warrios beat Ivan & Nikita Koloff by DQ
Dusty Rhodes vs Tully Blanchard was a 20 minute draw
Ric Flair beat Ron Garvin

I thought that seeing the NWA live was the coolest thing I had ever gotten to do. The next day at school I was telling everybody about the results, and then everybody watched it on TV the following Friday night, and I was like "yeah I was there and it was awesome."    Grin

My first live matches were the year before that. They had live matches in my hometown promoted by Ann Gunkel's "All South Championship Wrestling". We got live matches every three weeks that summer and fall. The talent roster was really strong and featured a lot of guys I had seen on TV such as Tommy Rich, Mr. Wrestling #2, Mr. Olympia, Randy Rose, Doug Sommers, Ron Starr, Boris Zhukov, Scott "Hog" Irwin, Chick Donovan, Nick Patrick who wrestled, Nightmare Ted Allen, John Michaels, Porkchop Cash, and others. Randy "Pee Wee" Anderson got his start as a referee on these shows. Rick Stewart, who did colo commentary at Starrcade 86 also started out as the host of their weekly TV shows that was on several Atrlanta and Chattanooga stations. Man those were the days......  Roll Eyes

My first WCW live event was the first and only time they had Nitro at the old Capital Center in Landover MD.  It was the Monday before Bash At The Beach 96.  I don't remember much of the matches, The Steiners defeated Harlem Heat, and The Giant defeated John Tenta.  What I remember most was Scott Hall and Kevin Nash coming out thru the crowd to their front row seats.  I was sitting on the aisle.  I was getting ready to get up and go to the restroom when security started coming down towards me, and low and behold, Hall and Nash were there.

Im not going to be responsible for what hits next. Because, we dont wear white hats. We are not nice guys. And I can tell you this -- heads are going to roll! So, Ive said it. Be careful for what you wish for, because now, you have it.
