Ernie Ladd in Mid Atlantic Area

By now most of you have heard the very sad news one of our biggest wrestling stars ever Ernie the big cat Ladd passed away at the age of 68 due to cancer. My question is when Ernie was in the Mid Atlantic area didnt he feud with Ricky Steamboat because I remember when he blew white poeder in Steamboats face and blinded him and beat him up on tv Rufus R jones and Leroy Brown Did he hold any titles? R.I.P. BIG CAT
