This is from Nick Roberts' 1967 journal. The page on the left is for the matches on the TV show the preceding Saturday (January 28) and the page on the right is for the Lubbock house show card at the Fair Park Coliseum the following Wednesday night, February 1, 1967...
 

 
From the journal, we can see...    
   
January 28, 1967 The TV show (I believe airing at 4:15 p.m.) included a beer can bending competition of sorts between Terry Funk and Brute Bernard.  
 
The February 1, 1967 Lubbock card featured Dick Steinborn successfully defending the North American championship against Dan Miller, Brute Bernard beating Art Nelson, Iron Mike and Professor Tanaka over Terry Funk and his father, and Silento Rodriguez over Bobby Duncum. There is a "disq" notation between the first and second matches, but I'm not sure which match the disqualification refers to.

I am elated that Baby Doll has given the world a piece of history. So many times in our profession facts , figures and people are forgotten for the ages.  
 
I wrestled Nick Roberts in a few Battle Royals and appeared on cards he promoted in Lubbock with a masked man by the name of The Patriot (Bobby Hart).  
 
I was always treated with the greatest of respect from Nick and would ask that God will continue to protect him in that big ring in the sky.  
 
Thank you Baby Doll for making another of my memories of a wonderful time in my life come back to me in a positive way.  Please stay in touch with me. I hope that someday we can meet at a CAC get together .
