i agree. that is one reason why i go to all these fanfest greg has put on and finally went to my first CAC banquet this past weekend. it's not that i'm meeting guys to get them "under my belt" of folks to have met, but there are some really seriously fun and GREAT men and women in this business in the past and in the present. and their wives..they are great, too. i want to meet these people, get to know them what i can because i love this business. i watched these guys go at it and they are a part of my childhood. and if not that, they helped pave the way for the ones that were part of my life.
meet who you can. get to know them if at all possible, and most of all, cherish your memories and the relationships you may gain. autographs are great, but nothing gives me a bigger thrill than to meet someone and they actually remember me down the road. us getting to know each other from one show to another is more meaningful.
one last thought..at the last fanfest in charlotte, i talked with a guy for a few minutes. he said he didn't think anyone would remember him from so long ago. i like to think i made him feel good that day. he just mighta needed a "pick me up" that day...
