IMO the best was talentwise was Flair, Tully, Arn, and Barry, but the best or most intimidating were w/ Ole.  The worst was Mongo!

I remember Clash X from Corpus Christi, TX when Ole gave Sting until the end of the show to "make up his mind" to give up his match with Flair...  They really sold that well, almost wondering how serious Ole and Arn were about sticking Sting's head in the sand...  Smiley

I feel the best Horsemen are the Original group.  They just set the tone for all super groups from that point on.  I think the most GIFTED group would be Flair, Anderson, Blanchard & Barry.  They just all had what most like to call IT.

The worst member to me would be Paul Roma.  He went for jobber to member of the Horsemen.  He didn't fit ANY kind of mold for that group.  He was a waste of space in the group.

On a different note in that 4 Horsemen dvd he says that Flair and Anderson are jealous of him because of his body.  I might be wrong and I hope that I am misquoting him but I do think that's what he said.  Well that confirms it for me.  In the words of Stevie Ray, "What's this Fruit Booty talking about?"

Flair, Arn, Tully, Ole, and JJ were the best.

Luger and Windham fit very well and were smooth transitions. Do I even have to discuss Kendall Windham or Butch Reed?

I liked Sting's run, because it was short, and led to the Horsemen turning on him, setting up the Sting vs. Flair feud.

Sid didn't fit in too well. He wasn't the worker or mic guy the rest had been. I liked him much better as one of the Skyscrapers. Roma was not elite, and a meh worker, in my opinion the worst. Pillman didn't fit in with his character, and I think he should have stayed as a loner outside type. McMichael was a terrible wrestler, but got a decent enough push, and had legitmacy as a former Chicago Bear. Jarrett was a pretty good fit. Probably the best post 1987 Horsemen addition. Malenko/Benoit were too different from Flair/Arn, and didn't have the mic skills or the constant pushes to be considered elite. Definately brought the wrestling game though.

The Originals, Flair, Arn, Ole, Tully and JJ. It all seemed to go down hill when Ole broke off. However, when Barry Windham joined up, after turning on Lugar, things seemed to get going again. However, by that time, Crockett was in financial trouble and things fell apart again later that fall when Arn and Tully took off for the WWF. I was heartbroken like I'm sure many old school fans were. Little did we know at the time that a great era was over.

I really don't get how anyone can find Ole Anderson better at anything, in any way, over Barry Windham. But that's just me I guess.

'88 Horsemen all the way for me: Flair; Arn; Tully; Windham.

Single worst? Probably Mongo, as Paul Roma was at least a wrestler. Mongo was tolerable at times but no Horseman.

Couldn't agree more...except on the worst Horseman.  I have to go with Jarrett.  Has he ever fit in anywhere? Has he ever drawn heat(and the legit 'go away forever' heat doesn't count)? When I think of 'ol Double J, I see a single plain piece of white bread sitting on a plate in a kitchen filled with Filet Mignon.

I really gotta go with the originals Anderson, Andeson, Flair and Blanchard with the exception of Ole Anderson here's why...

Did Ole Anderson really need The Horsemen to solidify his standing as a JCP Icon? I think not by the time the Horsemen ever came into existence Ole was already a well established legend in JCP

On the other hand I don't see who else could've filled that void unless they either had turned Windham Heel sooner or turned Magnum TA none of which at that time was very realistic What do you all think this theory?

I can't believe most of you picked Mongo as worse rather than Roma. Mongo may not have had any wrestling skills, but he had that Horseman killer instinct they needed. He fit in at the right time. the business was on fire at the time he was in and at an all time low when Roma was there. IMHO, Mongo was nowhere near at the bottom of the list as worse Horsemen.

But, the best had to be Flair, Arn, Tully, Barry, and JJ. Man the NWA was so good in 1988, but after Arn and Tully left, it was never the same for the Horsemen or the NWA.

Best : Flair, Windham , Tully , Arn. Worst Single? Malenko...

May I ask why you think Malenko is the worst?  I think this could be a pretty interesting discussion...

He was just so small and had no mic skills. Benoit was small but in the ring came off like a badass. Dean never seemed like a threat to anyone.
