Angles/storylines that never came to surface
May 11th, 2007, 8:32pm

I thought it would be cool if anyone could recall hearing of any angles or storylines that were booked and thern  for whatever reason never came to be.Some examples I can recall the heel Fantastics/vs/Rock'N Roll Express, also Magnum T.A defeating Ric Flair for the NWA World Title at Starcade 86,and Sid Vicious was penciled in to main event Starcade 93 and unseat Vader for the world title, but  since the infamous Arn Anderson stabbing incident took place-Sid was dismissed and so was his World title shot at Starcade.Anybody have any others?

I believe the NWA would've eventually put the belt on Magnum T.A. if not for his accident. He was only getting more popular at the time.

Anyone know if Nikita was supposed to get the World Title at some point, but for reasons unknown, never happened? Flair's feud with Nikita didn't make much sense with no title change ever occuring. Most Flair feuds(specifically the long ones) usually culminated in a title change.

This didn't happen with the Flair/Koloff feud.

I have recently read that Greg Valentine was plannign to move to the NWA around 1987 and would possibly have joined up with the Four Horsemen. That would have been interesting.

I have also heard that Honky Tonk Man was planning to leave the WWF in early 1988 and show up on TBS with the Intercontinental Title belt. That would have certainly turned a few heads at the time.

It didn't happen with Lex Luger, either.

i've heard that was because the WWF wanted him to drop the title to someone who he felt wasn't the right person for him to drop it to.

Honky was supposed to drop the IC strap to Randy Savage on Feb 5th/NBC special.Honky refused and threatened to show up on NWA TV with the IC title. So The bookers backed off, when Randy heard of this he was ready to shoot all over Honky Tonk Man on the NBC special in their match. So to keep Randy from killing the Honky Tonk Man on national TV,the bookers promised to award Randy the World title at the Wrestlemania 4 championship tournament-a spot previously reserved for The Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase.
