Jay Lethal/ Macho Man Randy Savage

Why is Jay Lethal stealing "Macho Man" Randy Savage's look from the 80's and early 90's ?

Can't TNA come up with anything original and something that hasnt been seen before ?

Actually, it's satire, and to be honest, he does a GREAT Macho Man.  Close your eyes and it's perfect!

They'll run the gimmick until it gets old and then there'll kill with a shocking appearance by the real Macho Man who will kick his a$$, and then retire again....

Ohhhh, Yeeeaaahhh!

Hey - the bottom line is look at how many PPV buys and TV rating points Lethal is getting with that gimmick. You can't argue with pure money, especially when its attached to such a great gimmick....  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

I'm really surprised this gimmick has lasted so long. He's still pretty over with it. More so than he was as Jay Lethal. He wrestled here at the Cape Cod Melody Tent, and he was super over. He signed autographs during intermission, seemed like a good dude.

To be honest, I've actually enjoyed it, from the little bit of TNA I watch.  As was said earlier, he really does it quite well, even the mannerisms and everything.

Jay was on a talk show. He said he did the Macho thing in the back for the boys. Nash loved it and had him do it for double J. Then they took it to the top. Jay was like I dont know what will Macho say he ill come and kick my a**. Jay talked to Macho and he was cool with it he liked it and gave his ok. Jay put Nash over big time and that Nash was so good at helping the young guys in the back.

I think this is a great gimmick for Jay, however feel it is somewhat limiting and could hurt him long term a la Goldust, Red Rooster etc. Not sure why they took the belt off of him so quickly.

I have to agree. The gimmick is great. He has all of the mannerisms down pat.

Yeah, I think it's cool that Jay Lethal wants to pay tribute to his favorite wrestler that he idolized as a kid, Macho Man Randy Savage.

But, I dont like the idea of TNA profiting off of a gimmick that WWE created.
