I got  a phone call from a friend in Portland last night on the way in from the Hickory show. She was an emotional wreck and said that Sandy Barr had an heart attack and passed.
I don't know if Sandy ever worked the Mid-Atlantic area.  He was one hell of a man. He loved old school wrestling and would watch a good technical match like  the biggest fan you had ever seen, even after all these years of sweeing it.  
The biggest testament from Sandy to this business I remember- was he would run shows at a loss, and he knew he was losing money. He would tell me "well there's no where else for the boys to work"
