The Split Squad program gave some guys an extra chance to shine.

Loved the wins by Miguel Perez, Ayala, and Castillo.

The team of Jones and Steamboat deserve another shot at Big Nasty and the Nature Boy.

The Superstar gets a great, if tainted, win.

Blanchard/ Orndorff make a great team.

O'Dell vs. Weaver. Priceless.

Great stuff.

These split shows are something we should really be seeing more often as they were part of the business at this time.

Nice spread of talent for these events. Hope to see more as you had some good match ups.

I agree this has to be done really super stuff, but I do have to ask why it took the Mid-Atlantic legend Johnny Weaver over 15 minutes to defeat a manager?

Cook & Candy look primed to be the next champions.
Excellent look as the fresh talent of veteran Castillo & Riddle
Superstar vs. Wahoo never disappoints!

Good debut for Ayala, he will be a force in my opinion
Perez, another talent out of Puerto Rico, looked good as well
Great win for Kernodle

Tully & Orndorff have the Alaskans number. Should be interesting to see who can defeat the Alaskans first, Tully/Orndorff or Tully/Kernodle or Candy/Cook. The Alaskans are in trouble.

Great tag main event involving Flair & Steamboat. Good finish with Mosca over Jones, keeping Flair & Ricky away from the pin fall, to continue the build for their much anticipated 1 on 1 bout.

Thanks for the great feedback guys! I am gonna try and do some more of these as they really did this back in the day. It also gives some of these lower-mid card guys a time to shine. As for Homer O'Dell, he didn't always manage guys, he wrestled as well in the '60s and 70's. He wrestled quite a bit in the WWWF in the late '60s and actually held the Macon Tag Team Titles with Buddy Colt for the first quarter of 1970 in Georgia. He definitely knew his way around the ring and was certainly no pushover.

I am familiar with O'Dell's past, but as JJ Dillon says, wrestle like a manager, manage like a wrestler, no matter what your past  Grin

Being a heel manager, former wrestlers quickly lose their credibility in the ring. Was just giving some constructive criticism.  Wink
