Bobby Shane

While Swede Hanson was out of action for a few months in 1973 due to a
heart attack,Bobby Shane teamed up with Rip Hawk. Bobby would do workouts
and interviews on tv but he refused to wrestle on tv because he was "the King
of Wrestling".

Here is Rip Hawk and Bobby Shane teaming in Burlington,NC in Sept.1973.
Swede Hanson returned to team with Rip Hawk the first week in November
1973.

I recall in the mid-1960's, when Bobby Shane first came to JCP, he was teamed for a short period with Paul DeMarco, another "young lion", as a babyface tag team.

One of my visits to the WBTV-Charlotte wrestling tapings (I was a mere lad at the time) included a tag match with Shane and DeMarco going against, ironically, Rip Hawk and Swede Hansen.

Yes sir Bolo, Paul DeMarco was a good talent too. You may also remember
Don Kent doing a stint with JCP and teaming some with Bobby Shane. I think
we were so lucky being able to see those guys and many more before they
made it to the main events. When Don Kent left JCP he teamed with Al Costello
as the Fabulous Kangaroos.

Update: Bolo, I was looking through my notes and found the date of the
Charlotte tv taping where Bobby Shane and Paul DeMarco wrestled Rip Hawk
and Swede Hanson. It was Wednesday night Aug.24,1966.

cwh47,

Your research is incredible. Thanks so much. Now I know where I was on Wednesday night August 24,1966.

Incidently, Shane and DeMarco won the match in the third fall on a DQ.
