Mid South Television - Taped at the Irish McNeil Boy's Club - Shreveport, LA Boyd: Welcome to this week’s edition of Mid South wrestling television network, I’m your host Boyd Pierce. We have a action packed hour of wrestling excitement. Headlining today's card are two big title match, main events. You heard me right sports fans, right here on television, both the Mid South Tag Team Titles and the Mississippi Heavyweight Title will be on the line. At my side, to help me tell you about all of the great things going on, is our very special guest co-host, the North American Heavyweight Champion - Killer Karl Kox. Kox: Thanks Boyd, I’m excited to be here with you today. Boyd: Karl there is a lot going on right now in the Mid South. Bill Watts finally got his hands on Sir Dudley Clements, and may have actually run him out of the Mid South. Noone has seen or heard from him since his beating at the at hands of the big Oklahoma Stampeder. Mike George has barely been able to hang to to his Louisiana Championship, with Bob Roop breathing down his neck. And Karl, you're now looking at your toughest competition to date, with the Korean Assassin Strong Kobayashi and his manager Deepak Singh. Finally, to top all of that, both the Tag Belts and Mississippi Belt will be defended today on television. Kox: That's right Boyd. I was in New Orleans Monday night, and I watched the beating that Bill Watts gave to Sir Dudley Clements, and it was brutal. That's a perfect example of sticking your nose where it doesn't belong. Clements took money out of Bill Watts' pocket when he had him suspended, and the big cowboy just waited until he had his opportunty for payback. And trust me, Watts got his money's worth. As for Kobayashi, he's a scary dude, and Monday night in a tag match he did pin my shoulders to the canvas, but I know how to get scary myself. And if his manager keeps sticking his big banana nose in my business, he may get some of what Dudley Clements got. Boyd: We've got lots of action in store for you. When we return we are scheduled to have our first big television main event - The Sheepherders will defend their Mid South Tag Team Titles against the outstanding tag team of Cowboy Bill Watts and Bob Roop. -------------------------------------Commercial Break--------------------------------- Boyd: Let's go right to Reiser in the ring, we've had a strange change in events. <the Sheepherders are standing in the ring in their street clothes, along with President Jack Curtis> Reiser: I am standing here with Butch Miller and Luke Williams of the Sheepherders . They requested this impromptu meeting with President Jack Curtis due to the absence of their manager Sir Dudley Clements. Butch Miller: Mr. Curtis we will be unable to defend our titles today, due to the absence of our manager. We have been unable to reach him since his match with that bully Bill Watts last Monday night. It would be unjust for us to have to defend our titles without our manager Sir Dudley Clements at ringside. Jack Curtis: I am sorry Luke and Butch. We have also been trying to contact Mr. Clements for several days. He has missed all of his commitments since Monday night in New Orleans. However, you are signed to have a title match today on tv, and you must defend your belts or you”ll be stripped of the titles. Butch Miller: You bloody Yanks are doing everything in your power to take the titles from us. You knew Sir. Dudley could not be reached. That’s why you are forcing us to defend the titles today. Jack Curtis: This match has been signed for some time. But, what I will do for you is give you a few minutes to get ready. Instead of making you wrestle in the opening match we’ll readjust our line-up and put one of our standby matches on next. However, you will be the second match on the card, so you’d better go get yourselves ready. <the Sheepherders leave the ring in disgust> <back to the announce desk> Boyd: Karl, how about that? What do you think happened to Clements? Kox: After the beating Cowboy Bill Watts gave him on Monday night, he may have tucked his tail and decided on a new profession. Boyd: When we come back well see one of our first stand by matches. ----------------------------------Commercial Break---------------------------------- Boyd: Reiser is in the ring for our first match. Ken Mantell vs Igor Putski Putski puts up a game fight, but Mantell is too much for him. Winner - Ken Mantell (6:32) Boyd: Ken Mantell continues to impress. Kox: Boyd, I don't think he's lost a match since he arrived here in the Mid South. Also, he doesn't mind bending the rules, which makes him extra dangerous. Boyd: When we return we should finally see today's first television main event. -----------------------------------Commercial Break----------------------------------- Boyd: Welcome back. The tag champs are in the ring dressed and ready to wrestle. Let's to to Reiser....... Mid South Tag Team Championship Sheepherders - Champions vs Bill Watts & Bob Roop The Sheepherders are off of their game without their manager. Watts and Roop are double tough. Referee Jim Ross takes a bump to the floor. Butch holds Watts as Luke illegally comes off the top rope, but Watts ducks out of the way and Luke crashes into Butch, who goes over the top rope and to the floor. Quasimodo storms the ring and hits Watts with a chair, Watts goes to the floor. Luke is holding Roop, as Quasimodo comes toward him with the chair. Roop ducks the chair shot and it lands flush on Lukes head. Roop grabs Quasimodo and delivers a devistating shoulder breaker. Roop rolls Quasimodo out of the ring and covers Luke Williams. Jim Ross rolls over for the pin.....1........2........3.....Roop jumps up and down in celebration......grabs the tag belts and rolls out of the ring to his partner......Roop lifts Watts and they hug in celebration Winners: Bill Watts & Bob Roop - New Tag Champions (10:02) Kox: Bob Roop promised to come into the Mid South and turn some heads, and he's already got his hands on some Mid South gold. Boyd: Watts and Roop are as tough as they come, and they could be champs for a long time. When we return we'll have our second television main event. ----------------------------------Commercial Break----------------------------------- Boyd: Reiser is in the ring for our second title match. Mississippi Heavyweight Championship Jerry Stubbs - Champion vs Quasimodo After claiming a shoulder injury from the previous match, Quasimodo is ordered to either wrestle or forfeit his title shot. Quasimodo charges Stubbs. Stubbs sidesteps him and sends him into the corner. As Quasimodo staggers out of the corner, Stubbs lands a textbook drop kick that sends him reeling. Quasimodo charges two more times and each is met by an armdrag. A weary Quasimodo makes his final charge and is caught in the sleeper. Quasimodo puts up a struggle, but cannot free himself and eventually goes out. Winner : Jerry Stubbs (2:10) Kox: Wow Boyd!!!! Stubbs absolutely had his way with Quasimodo. Boyd: We have seen Sir Dudley Clements' stable come crumbling down today. Kox: If he does show back up, he won't have any champions in his stable. Boyd: Well Karl, I'm sure you'll be watching this next match very closely, cause after these messages we'll see Strong Koyashi face Grizzly Smith. Kox: That match would also be a main event in most places across the country. Boyd, you might also want to get me a seatbelt, because it isn't going to take much for me to go after Kobayashi and Singh. Boyd: Now now Karl, you just stay right here at the table. You don't want to get yourself fined. Well be right back. -------------------------------------Commercial Break----------------------- Reiser: Monday night June 11th Mid South Wrestling comes to the West Bank, and the John Ehret High School Gymnasium, for a huge night of wrestling action. Killer Karl Kox defends his North American Title against the Korean Assassin Strong Kobayashi In a return bout, Bob Roop gets another shot at the Louisiana Title and Mike George. This time it'll be 1 fall and No DQ. Let's see what the Louisiana Champion has to say about this tough match. Mike George: I'm sick and tired of Bob Roop continually sticking his nose in my business. Every time I turn around he's either attacking me from behind, or he's got some type of foreign object in his hands. Since the Mid South doesn't seem to want to do anything about him, I'm gonna put a $5,000 bounty on the head of Bob Roop. Anyone who can put him out of action, will get $5,000 cash. Roop I'll see you Monday night. In other great action The Ortons will face Cheif Thundercloud and Johnny War Eagle. Ken Mantell faces Grizzly Smith --------------------------------------Commercial Break--------------------------- Strong Kobayashi vs Grizzly Smith Strong attacks while Grizzly is taking off his ring jacket. He has Grizzly down and is on the offensive. Grizzly tries to make a comeback and is distracted by the outside antics of Deepak Singh. Kobayashi is back on top. Again as Grizzly begins to make a comeback, Deepak uses a distraction. <Killer Karl Kox is beginning to get unnerved by Deepak's actions and leaves the announce table and chases him back to the dressing room> Kobayashi and Smith roll out of the ring and take their fight to the floor. Both guys are counted out. Double Countout - (7:04) Boyd: Hopefully we'll be able to get our co-host back to the anounce table. <Kox come around around the corner and puts back on his headset> Kox: Boyd, I apologize, but I refuse to sit here and watch that so-called manager constantly interfere in matches. I'm sure the Mid South will probably fine me for leaving the table, but I took all I could stand. Boyd: I've got a feeling you guys will be seeing a lot more of each other down the road. We'll be right back. ---------------------------------Commercial Break---------------------------- Boyd: We've only got a couple minutes of airtime, so lets go right to Reiser. Bob Orton & Bob Orton Jr. vs Chief Thundercloud & Johnny War Eagle Boyd: As our time comes to a close. A reminder for all of our viewers, there will not no television next week. But I also want to mention some exciting things upcoming in the Mid South territory. In two weeks, we"ll have one of the toughest tag teams in the country making a stop in the Mid South - Jesse Ventura and Ken Patera. They are currently negotiating to have a Mid South Tag Team Title Match, which would now be against Watts and Roop. We've also got another great Superdome Extravaganza right around the corner. Scheduled to be there will be the World Heavyweight Champion, Terry Funk. Kox: That Orton boy is smooth in the ring, him and his pop make a great team. Boyd: The Ortons are a fine team, but when Thundercloud and War Eagle get going the are also double tough. Unfortunately our time is running out. Don't forget, we'll see you in two weeks. For my co host Killer Karl Kox, I'm Boyd Pierce.
