Dusty Rhodes & The Shiek

My memory may be failing me, but, I seem to remember Dusty Rhodes bringing in The Shiek around the time that Jimmy Garvin was feuding with Kevin Sullivan.  Does anybody know what I am talking about?  I remember Sullivan acting mad and scared saying "I don't know where you found him!"

I don't believe he ever had The Sheik on television, however, they did set up a match during the Great American Bash tour when they stopped in Detroit at Cobo Hall on July 31, 1988. Match was Dusty Rhodes and The Sheik vs. Kevin Sullivan and Dick Murdoch. Don't recall the outcome, but I think The Sheik and Dick Murdoch did a double-switch, essentially. Murdoch worked face the rest of the year and next year in the NWA.

That is correct. It was a cage match and Sheik turned on Dusty and then Murdoch made he save. Since it didn't ever air on television, the announcers had to explain it all on the shows the following weekend. I remember that Dusty and Murdoch did some interviews and accompanied each other to the ring a few times as the reunited "Texas Outlaws".
