Why didn't WCW ever sue ECW for stealing the idea and logo when ECW formed the b.W.o. ?

Check out Eric Bischoff's book.  It is very interesting as it reveals many of the things that were involved in the company during that period of time--reasons why stuff like Bret coming to Nitro and throwing the belt in the trash would not have happened.  Suffice to say that during that '97 run of the bWo, the Turner/Time Warner merger was already underway and Bischoff was handcuffed in what he could/could not do (as handed down from the legal department).  For example, Bischoff was forbidden from sending WCW camera crews and wrestlers to WWF events in response to the DX going to Nitro thing.
 
At some point, the legal department probably just did not really care about some parody of a storyline, I mean, they did not even sue over the "Billionaire Ted" sketches that WWF aired in '96.

The bWo was a parody of the nWo so WCW couldn't sue them.  
 
However, I do believe that WCW threatened legal action against the WWF over the "Billionaire Ted" skits though because they were starting to go beyond humor and into the realm of downright nasty and personal.

It would have bn silly to sue parodies only make people want o see the real thing..remember the crock
