Johnny Nitro's new name and gimmick

I didnt know that Johnny Nitro's real name was John Morrison.
 
I thought WWE got his new look, name and gimmick from the singer of "The Doors" Jim Morrison.
 
Because Johnny Nitro's new look does look alot like Jim Morrison

I think the new gimmick is because he's a huge JJ Dillon fan...
