have to agree with JBL here. i have NEVER heard one good word about him from any promotor from back then, whether it be second hand or first hand. he was too...self preserving is how i took it. that's not a knock against him, just an evaluation of his outlook. this business was his job just as you and me got jobs (i guess you got one). and how many times can we call all the shots and make demands about our jobs before we are out the door? well, frank couldn't do it either. that's why he was seldom or never used longterm anywhere other than japan. i also was told here in MACW that they never brought in the freebirds because "they are too hard to work with". that's the same as with frank. it took the UWF being bought by JCP to get them back into the our former MACW cities. again, not a knock against anyone here. but frank especially, was not exposed to many fans in any territory in the US other than WCCW throughout the entire 1980's. the biggest era of the industry and frank never got much exposure???...there is a reason for that. as big a wrestling city as greensboro,nc was in the late '70's until his death, frank was brought into greensboro only 2 times between 12/26/82 and once more in '83, i think it was (i missed that one show). and that is only twice into the entire MACW area for a few quick dates. us hardcores remember frank fondly. sad part is, most fo us hardcores gave up on this business years ago. so the people who do remember him..well, we are a decreasing number of people....
