cry

His death has to be the saddest of all, especially the reaction or lack of one.

Just because it hasn't been mentioned on here, doesn't mean that Brody hasn't been remembered for what he was. He passed 19 years ago, and that memory has never faded amongst wrestling fans. He is still a icon in Japanese pro wrestling to this day. You still have Puerto Rico putting on Brody Memorial shows in bad taste. He is in the Wrestling Observer Hall of Fame, and the Best Brawler award has been renamed in his honor. WWE released a Brody figure a couple of years ago. A Brody book is on the way. So he is far from being forgotten.

Brody just seemed to go through different towns and promoters burning bridges as I have only see a few wrestlers have any good words about him in shoot interviews...
at the time the big thing was Hulk Hogan and the Titan Machine here in the U.S. and NWA was running in second place , he got major press in Japan but not so much here because he didn't have the exposure here. This is not me showing him any disrespect to him or his legacy. I am just giving my view on why he is almost never mentioned in any form on any dvds or mentioned as one of the "stars" who have died on the newscasts that are being listed every night on Nancy Grace.

have to agree with JBL here.
i have NEVER heard one good word about him from any promotor from back then, whether it be second hand or first hand. he was too...self preserving is how i took it. that's not a knock against him, just an evaluation of his outlook.
this business was his job just as you and me got jobs (i guess you got one). and how many times can we call all the shots and make demands about our jobs before we are out the door? well, frank couldn't do it either. that's why he was seldom or never used longterm anywhere other than japan.
i also was told here in MACW that they never brought in the freebirds because "they are too hard to work with". that's the same as with frank. it took the UWF being bought by JCP to get them back into the our former MACW cities.

again, not a knock against anyone here. but frank especially, was not exposed to many fans in any territory in the US other than WCCW throughout the entire 1980's. the biggest era of the industry and frank never got much exposure???...there is a reason for that.
as big a wrestling city as greensboro,nc was in the late '70's until his death, frank was brought into greensboro only 2 times between 12/26/82 and once more in '83, i think it was (i missed that one show). and that is only twice into the entire MACW area for a few quick dates.

us hardcores remember frank fondly. sad part is, most fo us hardcores gave up on this business years ago. so the people who do remember him..well, we are a decreasing number of people....
