Presented by the Queensbury Athletic Club
Sanctioned by the American Wrestling Association

Thursday Night, July 19th, 1977
Belltime: 7:30pm

---------------------------------------------------------

The house lights in the Garden go down, leaving just the lights above the ring on.  Norm Kimber makes his way into the ring, followed by the referee.  Kimber announces the competitors for the first match and we're underway!

Match #1 - 1 fall, 20 minute time limit
Chris Tolos
fought Mike Loren to a DRAW.

Match #2 - 1 fall, 20 minute time limit
Dino Bravo
defeated The Wildman after applying the Airplane Spin on Wildman, leading to the pinfall.

Match #3 - 1 fall, 20 minute time limit
Pedro Morales
defeated Terry Yorkston after locking Yorkston in the Boston Crab, giving the popular Puerto Rican the submission victory.

Match #4 - 1 fall, 30 minute time limit
The Masked Assassins w/ George Cannon
defeated El Bracero & Gino Brito after Assassin #1 slipped something into his mask, then Assassin #2 backed Bracero into their corner, and distracted the referee while Assassin #1 nailed Bracero with a headbutt, knocking him out cold.  Assassin #2 then covered Bracero for the pinfall.

Match #5 - 1 fall, 30 minute time limit
The BlackJacks (Mulligan & Lanza) w/ Percival Pringle III
VS. Billy Red Lyons & Edouard Carpentier.
The BlackJacks make their Maple Leaf Gardens debut as a team, and what an impressive debut it was!  They stormed the ring and immediately tore into their opponents before the opening bell even sounded!  Early on, Mulligan and Lanza continue their dominance, isolating Edouard Carpentier in their corner and pounding him into the mat.  Carpentier manages to eventually tag out, Lyons fares a little better, but only for a little bit.  Eventually the double-teaming of the BlackJacks is just too much, and Lyons succumbs to BlackJack Mulligan's Claw, giving the BlackJacks the submission victory.
Winners: BlackJack Mulligan & BlackJack Lanza, by submission

Match #6 - 1 fall, 30 minute time limit
Abdullah the Butcher
VS. Killer Kowalski.
The two men lock up to start.  Kowalski pushes Abdullah back into the corner, and begins to choke him in the corner!  Abby fires off a quick jab to Kowalski's throat, causing Killer to back off, Abdullah then nails him with a headbutt.  Kowalski staggers against the ropes, but Abdullah stays on him, he repeatedly kicks Kowalski in the stomach.  Kowalski quickly retaliates, though, kicking Abdullah, then backing him into the corner, where Killer starts choking him again!  Kowalski brings a series of clubbing forearms down across the top of Abby's head, leaving the Butcher dazed.  All of the sudden, Abdullah pulls something out of the band on his trunks, and begins to jab Kowalski in the head with it!  Kowalski tries to back away, but Abby grabs him, pushes Kowalski into the corner...and begins BITING HIS FOREHEAD!  When the referee finally gets the Butcher off of Kowalski, Killer's forehead has been busted open and blood starts to run down his face.  Abdullah nails Kowalski with a vicious headbutt, sending Kowalski through the ropes and out to the floor.  The Butcher stays right on him, he reaches through the ropes and grabs ahold of Kowalski.  Abdullah sticks his head through the ropes and once again starts biting Kowalski's head!  Abdullah then climbs through the ropes to the floor, and proceeds to slam Kowalski's head into the ringside steps.

Once back in the ring, Abdullah continues his assault on Kowalski, pounding him into the mat.  Kowalski manages a comeback late in the match, he nails Abdullah with a series of headbutts, then comes off the ropes and plants a big boot right into the chest of the Butcher, dropping Abdullah to the mat.  Kowalski goes to the 2nd rope and comes off with a kneedrop...ABBY ROLLS OUT OF THE WAY!!!  Abdullah rolls out of the way and Kowalski crashes to the mat.  Abby quickly capitalizes, he stomps away at his fallen opponent, then picks Kowalski up, slamming him hard to the mat.  Abby backs away, then charges at Kowalski, and nails him with the Sudanese Elbowdrop!  Abby covers Kowalski for the pinfall.
Winner: Abdullah the Butcher, by pinfall

Match #7 - AWA CANADIAN HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH - 1 fall, 60 minute time limit
The Crusader (Champion)
VS. Baron Von Raschke (Challenger).
Baron Von Raschke offers his hand to the Canadian Champion to start.  Crusader accepts, but as he shakes the Baron's hand, Von Raschke kicks him in the stomach!  With the Crusader on the mat, Baron takes a moment to taunt the fans, then plants a series of boots right to the side of the Champion's head.  Baron then pulls The Crusader up, whips him into the ropes, and plants a boot right into his stomach.  With the masked man doubled over, Von Raschke goes to apply the Claw!  The Crusader grabs his hand, and we've got a test of strength, as the Crusader tries desperately to keep Von Raschke from applying the dreaded Claw!  Finally The Crusader is able to stop Von Raschke from applying the Claw, and instead, monkey-flips the German Champion to the mat.  The Crusader goes to work on Von Raschke, working over his arm and shoulder.  For the next several minutes, Crusader keeps Von Raschke on the mat, wearing him down.

A low blow from Von Raschke turns the tables, though, the Baron drops the Canadian Champ with a clothesline and goes back to stomping away on the masked man.  Late in the match, The Crusader takes control of the match, he gets a very close nearfall with a sunset flip on Von Raschke.  Crusader nails Von Raschke with a picture-perfect standing suplex, but Von Raschke gets his leg on the rope before the ref can render the three-count.  In the end, Von Raschke is in trouble, the Crusader has him on the ropes, Von Raschke picks the masked man up, and proceeds to dump him over the top rope and to the floor!  The referee immediately calls for the bell, disqualifying Von Raschke for throwing the Champion over the top rope.

The Crusader is still down on the floor, Von Raschke goes out after him and goes to slam his head into the ring apron...The Crusader was playing possum, though!  He blocks it, then slams Von Raschke's head into the ring apron instead!  Von Raschke quickly takes off.  The Crusader takes his title from the referee and shakes hands with some of the ringside fans as he makes his way down the ramp and back to the locker room.
Winner: The Crusader, by DQ

Main Event - 1 fall, 60 minute time limit
The Sheik & Chris Colt w/ Eddie Creatchman
VS. Bobo Brazil & Mark Lewin.
The main event starts off with a bang as Chris Colt jumps Mark Lewin from behind as he's removing his ring jacket.  The Sheik tries to attack Bobo, but Brazil is ready for him, and nails The Sheik with a series of rights and lefts.  For the next few minutes, all four guys brawl in the ring.  When things settle down, we get Bobo and The Sheik in the ring, and they tear right into each other.  When Bobo gets the upper-hand, The Sheik tries to run, but Bobo will have none of it, he drags the Noble One back towards Bobo's corner and proceeds to pummel him before tagging Mark Lewin in.  Lewin comes in and goes to work on the Sheik, pummeling him with lefts and rights.

Lewin whips The Sheik into the opposite corner, but before he can follow up, Creatchman is up on the ring apron, distracting Lewin.  Mark goes over and grabs Creatchman by the collar, but this gives The Sheik an opportunity to attack from behind.  With Lewin now down on the mat, The Sheik pulls out his trusty foreign object and proceeds to carve up the forehead of Mark Lewin.  The Sheik tags Colt in, who seems to take great pleasure in digging and gouging at the cut on Lewin's forehead, opening it up even more.  Within minutes, Lewin is a bloody mess, and is having trouble even standing.  He desperately needs a tag, but The Sheik and Colt won't let him out of their corner.  It looks like they may double-team their way right to victory, but suddenly Lewin fires off several shots at both The Sheik and Colt, staggering both!  Lewin gets his second wind, he knocks The Sheik off the apron, and nails Colt with a series of rights and lefts that leave Chris on rubbery legs.  A big haymaker puts Colt flat on his back on the mat, and Lewin makes a mad dash for his corner!  Bobo comes in, with Colt just starting to get up off the mat.  Bobo pulls Colt up, then whips him into the ropes and gives him a huge back bodydrop.  The Sheik starts to come in, but as he sticks his head through the ropes, Bobo charges at him, driving a knee right into The Sheik's head, and the Noble One tumbles back through the ropes and to the floor!

The fans errupt as Bobo turns his attention back to Chris Colt.  Bobo pulls Colt up off the mat...COCOA-BUTT!!!  Bobo gives Colt the Cocoa-Butt headbutt, and Colt goes down like a sack of potatoes.  As The Sheik starts to pick himself up off the floor on the outside, inside the ring, Bobo covers the barely-conscious Chris Colt, leading to the 1,2,3!!!

After the decision has been announced, The Sheik and Eddie Creatchman enter the ring.  Creatchman berates Colt, telling him that he cost them the match and that he's a loser.  Suddenly, The Sheik attacks Colt from behind and gives him a vicious beating!  Colt's in rough shape anyways, and this isn't helping.  The Sheik pulls Colt up to his feet...FIREBALL!!!  The Sheik throws a fireball at his tag team partner!

WAIT A MINUTE...Bobo Brazil and Mark Lewin charge back down the ramp and into the ring!  They go after Sheik and Creatchman, but they bail out of the ring and hightail it to the locker room.  Bobo and Lewin then come over and check on Colt, who is rolling around on the mat, clutching his eyes.  They help him up and help him to the locker room as the fans give them a thunderous round of applause.
Winners: Mark Lewin & Bobo Brazil, by pinfall (Bobo p. Colt)

Norm Kimber then announces that the stars of the AWA will be at Exhibition Stadium on Thursday night, August 9th!  Rufus R. Jones will be back in action on that card, and a HUGE main event has been signed...two Champions will square off...AWA World Heavyweight Champion Nick Bockwinkel will put his title on the line against The Sheik's United States Title...it's TITLE vs TITLE!!!!
