Great lists guys...

I have a few.

Winged Eagle, signed by Ric Flair, Ric Flair (he signed it twice at a signing since the goober passing along the items just slid the belt half way, so Ric must have thought it was a different belt, oh well), Bret Hart, Sgt. Slaughter (signed with "1991"), Ultimate Warrior, Hulk Hogan, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, and Diesel (signed as "WWF Champ Diesel")

This is one my top 2 items and is one that I cherish greatly... I will also have Sid sign this at the Turnbuckle convention in LI as long as everything goes to plan...

I also have the Million Dollar Belt, signed only by Ted.

Also I have an ECW Heavyweight Title (original orange leathering in the back) signed by Tommy Dreamer, Bam Bam Bigelow, Justin Credible, Terry Funk, Sabu, Sandman, Rhino, and Jerry Lynn.

I also have a WWF 98-02 World Title signed by Mick Foley, Big Show, Kane, Kurt Angle (signed as "The Wrestling Machine), and Chris Jericho.

I also have the ECW TV Title signed only by RVD, since he is the main guy one would think of when you think of that title's lineage...

With the exception of the ECW World Title I like to have only people who have held the specific version of the title sign it...

I also own a bunch of non signed ones, including the original WCW World Title they came out with in 1999, a Deluxe WWE Unidisputed (version 2), a classic Intercontinental (one of my faves), and an NWA Heavyweight belt. For the time being I'm happy with my collection being where it's at, but if I had the extra cash to throw around, I'd love to get my hands on the WCW 1993 Heavyweight Title, the TV Title, and a pair of ECW Tags to complete the ECW collection...

I fail to see the point of having someone sign a belt they never held. Maybe it's just me.

Except for the Women's Title, I've been pretty picky about having just titleholders sign it. Never understood people having everyone sign one belt, whether they held it or not. But that's their belt &  their choice.  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Yeah I'm picky too.

For example I am not going to have Hornswoggle, Jaqueline, or Chavo Classic sign my WWE Cruiserweight title. Id rather save room on the belt for the REAL cruiserweights such as Rey Mysterio or Chavo Guerrero.

From what I have seen, autographed belts tend to make certain belts LOOSE value rather than gain them. The exception is usually belts like the Domed Globe autographed by holders of that specific belt.

Also belts autographed by deceased title holders tend to gain some value, but usually not anything to get excited about.

Lordofoldschool,

I don't think you should have Ted Dibiase sign your WWF Winged Eagle belt.

He was not considered a WWE Champion.

Andre the Giant gave him the championship, but the WWE President, Jack Tunney, said that the WWE Championship cannot change hands by giving it to another wrestler. It has to be won in a match.

If you would like Ted Dibiase to sign a belt, I recommend getting either the Million Dollar Belt, 80's WWF Tag Team Belt, or the current version of the WWE Tag Team title.

I want to get everyones opinion on this one...

Should I have Vader sign the WCW Big Gold Belt even though the only one he had was the title that was used from 91-93?  I mean the title he had has the same lineage but he never physically had that belt...what would you all do?

I would not. I would only have him sign a pic, or a belt he has held. Heck, if anything get a pic of him w/ the big gold and see if you pay for postage that he would be willing to sign then.

Lilmiss123,

I would have Vader sign the WCW big gold only if you are planning to get other former WCW Champions to sign it.

Both the Big Gold and the one used from 1991-1993 are both the WCW Championship.

Vader shouldnt sign the big Gold WCW belt unless there will be more former WCW Champions signatures added to the belt. Such as DDP, Goldberg or Ric Flair

Well, I had Sid sign it back in August, and now come April I will have Bob Backlund sign it as well, leaving only Randy Savage to complete the living holders of this belt... I'm so pumped. I never thought when I first had Ric Flair sign this that I could someday be this close to having it completed.

Good question, I thought I was the only one to think this. I always see people at the NWA fest having people sign belts they never held, or in some cases from a federation they were never even in. *stratches head*

Of course, this is a matter of personal preference.  its your belt, so its up to you.

BUT, i can tell you what I would do.  I WOULD have DiBiase sign it.  Sure, he never actually won that title.  BUT, the angle that involved the title going off of Hogan, onto Andre, the tournament and eventually onto Savage was a VERY BIG peice of wrestling history.  Basically, he has played a large role in the history of that belt, and big part in a very big angle.  I say its worth getting his sig on it.

I'm confused.  All the above people were WWF/WWE I-C Champions at some point, so where did I get any signatures from non-title holders?

Title yes, but not the version of the belt.

Would you have Triple H sign the Winged Eagle? No. Sure they represent the same title, but the physical belt they held is different.

But if you are somewhere and have the chance to get the signature, why not do it?  Not everyone has 1 of every belt lying around, so I say take a shot and get it signed if it makes you happy.

But I totally see Dan's point.

Russ would you have your Magnum 10lbs of Gold U.S. belt autographed by Lance Storm, Hugh Morris, Shane Douglas, The Steiner Brothers, David Flair, Jeff Jarrett, Kanyon, etc?

Sure the titles they held were the same, but the physical belt was not.

Not to mention, autographs on belts, especially by those who never held it, kill all resale value of the item.

I don't get belts signed.

I also don't believe in my heart that the WCW US title is the same US title worn by Magnum, Wahoo, Valentine, Piper and such, despite what some may think.  But I may if I got belts signed have Valentine and Piper and such auto a NWA US version 1987.  Same title but no it is not the physical belt they wore.

Because his WWWF belt is a home made belt. It isn't a "real" belt in the likeness of a JMar, Millican or Parks belt in which autographs would most likely reduce it's resale value. The WWWF belt is inexpensive in comparison and can be more easily justified to have it autographed  because it will not lose that much value.

I guess that makes sense to people who buy belts who are gonna re-sell them. I buy belts to own them, not resell them. Mine are for keeps. Even if you were to re-sell a belt with autos, there are several cleaners that will take off the ink without damaging the leather.

Good luck getting all remnants of sharpie off leather without damaging it or seeing any left over residue.

The sad fact is most people who buy belts really can't afford them to begin with. That is why we have hundreds of people who buy belts, then put them up for sale a month or 2 later when bills come in and they have no money to pay them.

Things happen, priorities change, etc. Never say never. With a real belt, you are almost guaranteed to get your money back trying to sell it in a squeeze. There are not too many collectibles that hold their value short term and gain value long term like belts do.
