Speaking of big news, we have some major news about the blockbuster card at the Sports Arena NEXT Thursday night. As a reminder there will be no card THIS Thursday night, but next week we have a star-studded night of rasslin’ for you folks. Not only will Jose Lothario and a partner of his choice get one more opportunity to win the Western States Tag Team Titles from Jerry Brisco & Gino Hernandez. Not only will Chris Taylor team with Cyclone Negro to face The Mongolian Stomper and Giant Baba. Not only will The Super Destroyer defend his International Title in a Texas Death Match against Dory Funk Junior, but ALSO the NWA World Heavyweight Champion Terry Funk will defend against Jack Brisco in a match with a special NINETY MINUTE time limit! What a night of action that’s gonna be. Don't touch that dial more Championship Rasslin is on its way!”

THE MONGOLIAN STOMPER & GIANT BABA def. DIZZY GOLDEN & SATORU SAYAMA, 6:49

“SUPER SOCK” JOSE LOTHARIO  joins Steve Stack for some comments!

Steve Stack: “Jose, you’ve been awarded one more chance to wrestle for the Western States Tag Team Titles coming up on August 2nd. Have you had any lucky finding a new partner since Chris Taylor is tied up with Giant Baba and The Mongolian Stomper?”

Jose Lothario: “Well, considering the low-down tactics that Bobby Davis has taught young Gino there are a lot of people angry with him, including myself. As you stated, this will be my last opportunity to take back the titles and teach Gino the ultimate lesson and I need a partner who can contend with these dirty tactics. I called one of my good friends and he’s agreed to team with me on August 2nd.”

Steve Stack: “This is big news, folks. Who will be your partner, Jose?”

Jose Lothario: “Mr. Stack, I’m not going to announce his name tonight, but I can promise you and all the great people watching that my partner will be here next week for Championship Wrestling! That’s a promise from me to all of my people watching.”

Steve Stack: “You heard the man, next week Jose’s going to reveal just who will be teaming with him against the Western States Tag Team Champions.”

WESTERN STATES HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION DICK MURDOCH is at ringside with Steve Stack.

Steve Stack: “Well Dick, you proved beyond a shadow of doubt that you are the rightful Western States Heavyweight Champion by defeating Tank Patton in the rematch last Thursday. In fact, I’ve heard that after the loss Tank Patton has left the Amarillo territory all together.”

Dick Murdoch: “Steve, it seems to me that Tank Patton realized he don’t have what it takes to be a champion in Amarillo anymore. And now Ah am looking forward to defending this championship belt and taking on all comers from Amarillo and all over the NWA.”

Steve Stack: “Would you mind joining me on commentary for this next match, Dick?”

Dick Murdoch: “Ah would love too.”

CYCLONE NEGRO def. FRANK DALTON, 8:17

Dick Murdoch: “Cyclone Negro is a top rassler and I hope to one day defend this belt against him. It’d be a great match, that’s for sure and I sure as heck feel bad for Giant Baba now that Cyclone is on his trail.”

Steve Stack: “Jerry Oates has really been mighty impressive since he showed up here in Amarillo and he has brought in a young man with the ambition of eventually challenging for the Western States Tag Team Titles. This young man is named Paul Orndorff and Paul has made quite a name for himself in his short career in Florida and in the Mid-Atlantic area. Now he’s formed a team with Jerry and come to Amarillo looking to improve even more. They’re up in the ring right now ready for a match.”

JERRY OATES + PAUL ORNDORFF def. THE KOZAK BROTHERS, 9:31

Steve Stack: “Come on over here and join me for an interview, gentlemen. That was a heck of a challenge there from the Kozak Brothers in your first match as a team, but you too sure did look impressive.”

Jerry Oates: “Thank you very much Mr. Stack and you’re right, those Kozak Brothers are one tough tag team. Paul and I were a little bit lucky to get by them in our first match as a team, but we’re gonna keep getting better and better. And soon, luck isn’t going to enter into the equations when we win, right Paul?”

Paul Orndorff: “I believe so, Jerry. You know, when I entered this sport less than two years ago, I was convinced by a man that I could take short cuts and not follow the rules. I quickly learned that’s not the way to earn respect from the people or the other wrestlers and so I’ve gotten onto the right path. And I have a tag team partner and mentor here, Jerry Oates, who’s teaching me more and more every day about wrestling. I believe we have what it takes to be successful and be role models for the young fans out there, not like Gino Hernandez and Jerry Brisco.”

Jerry Oates: “I used to have a lot of respect for Jerry Brisco, but that’s all out the window now. I hope Jose Lothario and his special tag team partner beat you boys for those belts, but if by some chance they don’t, well be prepared because Paul and I are going to work our way into contention for those belts. And we’re gonna do it by beating our opponents in the ring, not by using a manager or other wrestlers to interfere.”

Steve Stack: “It’s great to have two men like you in Amarillo.”

DORY FUNK JUNIOR joins Steve Stack!!

Steve Stack: “Well Dory, we’re just 12 days away from you getting your final title opportunity against The Super Destroyer in a Texas Death Match. But Dory, depending on who wins that match, we may never see you in Amarillo ever again. How are you feeling about that?”

Dory Funk Jr: “Well Steve, I made the offer knowing that either way my life would be changed for ever. It could either be the greatest night of my life if I win back the International Heavyweight Title, but it could also be the worst night of my life if I lose. If I lose, I have to pack my things and leave Amarillo, my home since I was born. I’d have to leave everything and everyone I love behind. I don’t have to tell you Steve, my life would never, ever be the same again. But Steve, that’s why I am going to do whatever it takes to make sure that doesn’t happen. See, a Texas Death Match is a match that my father made famous and he showed me what it takes to win the match. You have to be willing to absorb incredible amounts pain and keep on going. You have be willing to go all night and do whatever it takes to put your opponent down. You have to be willing to hurt, maim, and wound without any remorse. Well after what you did to me Super Destroyer, I am willing to do all of those things. Now all it comes down to is whether or not you can say the same, Destroyer.”

Steve Stack: “Wow…”

THE SUPER DESTROYER + GINO HERNANDEZ + JERRY BRISCO
V
SKIP YOUNG + MIKE JACKSON + LANNY POFFO

Bobby Davis gets on the microphone and announces his “championship dream team” of International Heavyweight Champion The Super Destroyer and his partners the Western States Tag Team Champions Jerry Brisco and GOOOOORGEOUS Gino Hernandez. Once the match gets under way, Super Destroyer shows just how tough he is by dominating all three of his opponents as they make quick tags in and out. Super Destroyer seems to be sending a message to Dory Funk Jr. that he is ready for their upcoming Texas Death Match.

Once Gino Hernandez tags in, he decks Lanny Poffo with a right hand and then proceeds to strut down the center of the ring. This is a mistake because Poffo kicks him in the back and then slams him to the canvas. Poffo then tags in Mike Jackson and the veteran catches Gino with a knee lift that sends Hernandez crawling back to his corner in agony. Jerry Brisco comes in and trades technical holds with Jackson for several minutes.

In the end, the match erupts into a six-man brawl in the ring with Skip Young hammering on Gino Hernandez, while Jerry Brisco dukes it out with Mike Jackson. In the middle of it all, Super Destroyer locks Lanny Poffo in the dreaded Claw and applies a lot of pressure on the hold. Lanny has no choice but to submit, which gives Bobby Davis’ “championship dream team” the win here.

Steve Stack: “The Super Destroyer looks ready for the Texas Death Match, folks. We’ll be right back to wrap up.”

Steve Stack: “All right fans, just as a reminder, this is now show this Thursday night at the Sports Arena, but we’ll be back next Thursday with the biggest card ever in the history of Championship Wrestling from Amarillo.”

BOBBY DAVIS interrupts Steve Stack!

Bobby Davis: “What is this, Steve Stack? I told the world last week that they were going to get to see a special video presentation on my newest acquisition from the Orient!”

Steve Stack: “Bobby, we don’t have time this week. You can show your video next week.”

Bobby Davis: “How dare you try to dismiss me, Steve! You don’t realize just who you’re dealing with here and it’s not just a powerful man like myself. When I tell this new client that this video wasn’t shown, well let’s just say it’ll make things even worse for the other wrestlers when he arrives.”

Steve Stack: “Bobby, we don’t have time. I’m sorry, but maybe we can see the video presentation next week.”

Bobby Davis: “MAYBE?! MAYBE!?!? WELL, if I’m not given the common decency by the producers of this show to show my video this week, well then maybe I’ll just have to buy my own time on next week’s show. One way or another, NEXT WEEK, you people are going to see a special video on the most brutal athlete to ever come out of Japan.”

Steve Stack: “OK, whatever you say, Bobby. Welp, folks, we are outta time, we’ll see you next week on Championship rasslin'!”

Great card for Aug 2.

Oates and Orndorff will make a great team.

Dory Funk leaving the state of Texas? No way.

I can't wait who Lothario takes as his partner to go after the Western States tag titles.

Great Amarillo action.

The producers of this televsion program better show more respect for the Manager of Champions or their next job might be flipping burgers at one of his fast food joints. Fans all over Texas are craving to see Davis's video of his new wrestler, and to not allow him to show it is censorship and favoritism at its worst.

The reason Jose Lothario didnt reveal his tag team partner is because--- he doesn't have one. He is old, he is washed up, he is decrepit and has no friends, and its time for him to retire lest he suffer another beating.

Paul Orndorff is back to being Mr. Not-so-Wonderful. He will soon discover that his new namby pamby, pablum puking baby kissing attitude won't get him far in a tough territory like Amarillo.

Thanks to all of you. I was hoping people would like the Oates/Orndorff team, to me their like the "good guy" version of Brisco and Gino. Kind of like the RnR Xpress to the Midnight Xpress. At least that's what I'm going for.
