TV INTRO

Jack Curran and Jack Britton welcome the fans to another great program of International Wrestling.

Curran is all smiles and tells the fans they have a LOT of big news coming out of the Montreal Forum show from this past Monday. But instead of just talking about the news, they are going to show film footage of the Forum show here on today’s program.

Britton then brings up it was NOT the night for manager Major Duke George, that was for sure. Speaking of the Major, he will be out here later in the Feature bout to manage the Television Champion Mad Dog Lefebvre who will be taking on an opponent drawn at random, who this week will be…..THE HANGMAN!

Duke’s men will be facing each other! On Today’s Program! It will be Lefebvre vs. The Hangman for the Television Title!

This brings out Mad Dog Lefebvre & Major Duke with his arms waiving in the air. He is visibly upset and lets Curran know it. The Major refuses to allow this match to happen, he says there is no way two men from his army would be allowed to wrestle one another. The Major says the AWA either needs to pick another opponent or Lefebvre won’t be wrestling today. This brings out chairman of International Wrestling, Johnny Rougeau, who insists they can not change the rules of the TV Title challenge matches to suit Major Duke and his champion. Johnny Rougeau says if Lefebvre refuses to wrestle the Hangman today he will be STRIPPED OF THE TV TITLE!

This again upsets the Major as he tries to argue with Rougeau. The Major insists this is biased, all because his Army has destroyed Johnny Rougeau’s family. Rougeau tells Duke to make any claims he wants, but rules are rules and on today’s show it WILL BE Lefebvre vs. The Hangman or the TV Title will be vacated! Rougeau walks off calmly and The Major begins to talk to him self while the Mad Dog simply looks a little shocked.

Curran & Britton mention that it appears it WILL be Lefebvre vs. The Hangman later on today’s program for the television title…Apparently Major Duke has come to the conclusion the match must happen in order to keep the TV title in his army. Britton ponders if the Major will be in a neutral corner or lean towards the champion.

What makes this match even more interesting is something that went down this past Monday. Fans it was Major Duke’s Army vs. Jacques Rougeau Jr, War Cloud & Two Rivers at the Forum and just take a look at what went down…

Highlights are shown of Paul LeDuc, Mad Dog Lefebvre & The Hangman vs. Jacques Rougeau Jr., Chief War Cloud & Billy Two Rivers from the Forum. The ending is shown with The Hangman pounding on Jacques in the corner and called for Mad Dog Lefebvre to enter the ring. Lefebvre (the illegal man) charged at Jacques in the corner, but young Rougeau moved & pulled Hangman into the corner instead. This caused Lefebvre to deliver a vicious clothesline into the corner on his own partner. Rougeau dropkicked Mad Dog from the ring and school boy’d the dazed Hangman for the pin.

After the match Mad Dog Lefebvre & The Hangman got into an argument and shoved one another. Eventually, manager Major Duke George got the two broken up before more could happen. Paul LeDuc stands by and watches the melee. There appears to be dissention in the Major’s army.

This indeed makes things even more interesting for the TV Title match later today on the program.

We have NEW International Tag Team Champions in Kurt & Karl Von Brauner. They defeated the Mercenaries for the titles at the Forum during a Tornado Match, in where all four men were legal throughout the match. Let’s take a look back at how that went down…

Footage of International Tag Team Champions The Mercenaries (Martin & Martel) vs. The Von Brauner’s in a Tornado match is shown. We join the match in progress with a brawl ensuing with Mad Dog Martel & Karl Von Brauner spilling to the floor. In the ring Frenchie is pounding on Kurt. Referee Andre Roy’s attention is in the ring, which allows Karl, on the outside, to whack Martel over the back with a board from under the ring, which downs the Mad Dog.

Back inside, Frenchie delivers a back breaker to Kurt and covers 1----2----Karl is in to break the count. Karl Von Brauner then picks Frenchie up and hits a body slam. Karl revives Kurt as Martin gets to his feet…

With Martel still regrouping from the 2x4 shot on the floor, the German team hit Martin with a double clothesline! Karl covers Frenchie 1----2------3!

Your winners and NEW Tag Team Champions…Kurt & Karl Von Brauner!

Curran & Britton note they have a pre-recorded interview from the former champions and ask for it to play. We see a post match interview in the locker room with The Mercenaries both bandaged up heavily. Martel is pacing and hopping mad, Frenchie Martin is just a bit calmer, but not by much. The Mercenaries demand a rematch and vow to win their Titles back.

Curran thinks the German team has awoken two “sleeping giants” so to speak. Britton looks forward to the rematch.

Some interesting news transpired during the much anticipated Texas Death Match between Serge Dumont & “Pretty Boy” Larry Sharpe. It was during this match that we saw a strange new man make his debut by interfering in the match and aiding the Pretty Boy in a win. Let’s take a look and see…

Highlights of the Serge Dumont vs. Larry Sharpe “Texas Death Match” are shown.
We are treated to several of the early falls in the bout before we are shown the finish…
Serge barely gets to his feet at the count of 9 after being pinned late in the bout. Larry goes for a slam but Dumont’s feet kick referee Andre Roy in the face and take him out. Referee Roy rolls to the floor!!!

Dumont slips behind Sharpe and delivers a back suplex and covers Pretty Boy…Dumont & the fans count 1----2----3, 1---2---3 but there is NO referee!

Dumont goes over to the apron and looks down at the referee, who is lifeless. At this point from behind and UNKNOWN assailant makes his way into the ring with a chair and attacks Dumont with it! This blonde man cracks Dumont with the chair in the back not once, but twice! The strange man then aids Sharpe to his feet and they deliver a SPIKE PILEDRIVER onto Serge!

The unknown man then places a spent Larry Sharpe on top of Dumont as replacement referee Adrian Desbois slides into the ring and counts 1--------2----------3 in 25:30!

Desbois begins the count 1—2—3---4—5—6---7—8---no sign of life in Desbois….9---10!

Serge Dumont did not answer the count! The winner of the match is Larry Sharpe. The strange blonde again helps Sharpe to his feet and raises the bloody Pretty Boy’s hand as the victor. The crowd is very angry and begins to throw things into the ring….

Curran & Britton talk about the interference and Curran notes that Dumont had the match won. Britton retaliates by defending Sharpe in the fact that the rules stated NO disqualification, meaning the interference was totally legal. Curran wants to know who this blonde man was. Larry Sharpe has promised that next week we will have our answers.

In even more big news Raymond Rougeau returned to singles competition at the Forum and faced one of his toughest opponents ever, in Abdullah the Butcher. The rules stated if Raymond could defeat the Butcher, that Rougeau would get his return match against Quebec Heavyweight Champion Paul LeDuc at the next Montreal Forum event.

Curran: Instead of telling you the outcome, why don’t we just let you find out for yourself.

Footage of Raymond Rougeau vs. Abdullah the Butcher is aired Joined in Progress. The Butcher hits a big body slam and sets up for the Sudanese Elbow drop. Abdullah takes a small sprint towards Raymond and goes to drop the elbow. ROUGEAU MOVES out of the way! Abdullah misses and it jarred the big man pretty good.

The Major looks worried as Rougeau makes a comeback. Rougeau & Abdullah are both back to their feet by a count of 6… Abdullah tries to attack Ray but Rougeau blocks a few shots and fired back to again stagger the big Sudanese warrior, but Abdullah has yet to be knocked off his feet all match!

Raymond delivers a clothesline, a dropkick and finally SLAMS Abdullah, sort of anyway! He did get the big man off of his feet and drop him to the mat. Rougeau delivers a splash and gets a 2 count.

Abdullah is getting up and pulls a fork from his pants! Duke George is up on the apron distracting referee Desbois. This allows the Butcher to try & jab Rougeau with the fork…but Rougeau KNOCKS IT FROM ABBY’S HAND! Raymond grabs the weapon and jabs Abdullah in the THROAT with it! Abdullah clutches his throat as Raymond leaps onto the back of the Butcher and applies THE SLEEPER HOLD!

Referee Desbois orders Duke off the apron and turns around to find Abdullah fading fast. Moments later Desbois raises Abdullah’s hand, once, twice, three times, and the Butcher is out of it! Your winner of the match….RAYMOND ROUGEAU!

We return to Curran who appears happy. Curran then brings out the former champion, Raymond Rougeau. Ray says it was his toughest match ever besides his bout with Paul LeDuc but he got the win. Rougeau looks forward to his rematch with LeDuc in 4 weeks. Rougeau says it gives him enough time to prepare for the fight of his life.

And now ladies & gentlemen, it is time for our feature bout of the day…

Feature Bout: Television Champion Mad Dog Lefebvre vs. The Hangman
Both men are managed by Major Duke George. The Major says he will be impartial and doesn’t condone this match. Duke then joins Curran & Britton on commentary, refusing to be at ringside. Duke also denies any dissention in the Major’s army.

Lefebvre & Hangman have no qualms about going at it toe to toe. The big men battle it out back & forth, kicking & punching, Lefebvre gets the Hangman down and begins stomping & biting on the challenger…The Major sounds upset about his men treating each other like this. Duke realizes there can only be ONE winner here and says he is headed to the ring to make sure his men follow the rules and to show his “support”.

The Major comes to ringside and asks Lefebvre to stop with the biting and the face rakes.

This inadvertently distracts Lefebvre and allows The Hangman to take control momentarily. The Hangman sneaks a low blow and goes to cover Lefebvre, which brings Major Duke up onto the apron. The Major now distracts Hangman from making the three count because of the way he took down the Mad Dog. Major is asking the two men for a clean fight. The Major wants a clean fight???

The two men stop paying attention to Duke at this point and really begin slugging it out. The pair refuse to release from one another grabbing & clawing at each other in the corner. Referee Desbois is tossed aside, which brings the Major into the ring. The Major tries to get between his two men but all three fall to the mat and begins to roll around fighting, with Duke stuck in the middle trying to break it up! Referee Desbois calls for the bell, disqualifying both men at 6:30!

This melee continues with several men coming out to try & break it up as we head to the break. The Major finally gets out of the middle of the mess and his clothes are torn and he looks very disheveled.

Curran & Britton are back to recap the show and talk about what just transpired within the Army of Major Duke…

The Major is upset and storms back onto the camera, torn clothes & all, to announce that next week he has a MAJOR (no pun intended) announcement. The Major with a MAJOR announcement, on next weeks show! What could it be? Duke says he won’t put up with this type of treason in his army and he holds ONE MAN responsible for it!

We are also going to find out more about this mystery man who aided Larry Sharpe in his win over Serge Dumont this past Monday.

Plus the Television Champion will again be in action.

We will also be hearing from AWA World Junior Heavyweight Champion Roddy Piper next week, as he will be in our area soon!

All of that plus much more next week on AWA International Wrestling!
