Winner-Dr. Hiro Ota (17:22)

Third Match, one fall, 30 minutes
The Von Steiger Brothers vs. Steve Rickard and Earl Maynard

The Von Steigers are locked in a feud with Ray Stevens and Dominic DeNucci. Tonight they take on two veterans, who will not be pushovers. Kurt begins against Maynard. The muscular man from the Caribbean is very impressive. Von Steiger works Earl into the wrong corner and Karl gets in a few shots. The Von Steigers dominate most of the action and Kurt finished of Rickard with the German claw.
Winners-The Von Steiger Brothers (15:21)

Fourth Match, one fall, 45 minutes
Pepper Gomez vs. Texas Red

Red and Gomez have started a very heated rivalry. The masked man takes over early and the popular Gomez is in trouble. The crowd gets behind the Latin sensation and he rallies. Red rakes the eyes and backs up Gomez. Gomez fires back and we have a slugfest. They exchange big rights and lefts. Red takes Gomez down and goes for the cover. Pepper uses Red’s momentum to reverse the cover and the referee counts the fall. The masked man is outraged.
Winner-Pepper Gomez (18:46)

Fifth Match, one fall, 60 minutes
NWA World Jr. Heavyweight Championship
Jerry Brisco (Champion) vs. Kevin Sullivan

The crowd cheers for the popular Sullivan. Brisco comes to the ring. The crowd boos him. They remember Jerry abandoning Sullivan in the TV tag team match. They lock up and begin to exchanging wrestling holds. Both men get nearfalls, but neither man can get the three count. Sullivan whips Brisco into the ropes and slaps on the sleeper. This could be it. Brisco is in trouble. Jerry is able to get to the ropes and the hold is broken. Brisco lands a boot to Sullivan’s knee. This leg was injured on TV last week. Brisco works over the leg and then goes for the figure four. Sullivan fights for several minutes, but he is forced to submit. Brisco takes the title belt and leaves to the boos of the crowd.
Winner-Jerry Brisco (22:46)

Semi-Final, one fall, 60 minutes
NWA World Tag Team Championship
The Anderson Brothers (Champions) vs. The Royal Kangaroos w/J.C. Dykes

This will be a very physical encounter. The no-nonsense Andersons have the World Title for a long time. The Kangaroos have taken the West Coast by storm. The crowd is not sure who to back in this one. Lord Jonathan Boyd begins things with Gene. The match holds and also rights and lefts. Gene tags in Ole and the younger Anderson goes to work. Boyd is in trouble. He escapes and tags in Charles. Norman gains an edge and now Ole is in trouble. Charles suplexes Ole and goes for the cover. Gene breaks up the count. This brings Boyd in and we have pier six brawl. The referee gets things sorted out and things get even more physical. The Andersons trap Charles in the wrong corner and go to work. Boyd tries to help, but the referee stops him. This allows the Andersons to get in more punishment. Ole covers Charles and Boyd can’t get there in time. The World Champions retain their belts.
Winners-The Anderson Brothers (21:01)

Main Event, one fall, 60 minutes
Pacific Coast Championship
Bruno Sammartino (Champion) vs. Ben Justice w/J.C. Dykes

Ben Justice cost Bruno a chance at the World Title and Sammartino is out for revenge. The bell rings and Bruno goes after Justice. Ben rolls out of the ring and tries to confer with Dykes. Bruno has an answer for that. He takes to the floor and goes after Justice. He slams Ben’s head into the ring apron and then whips him into the ringside barricade. Bruno then tosses Justice back in the ring. Bruno moves in, but Justice lands a boot that is quite low. This swings the momentum in the favor of the man from Washington D.C. He whips Bruno into the ropes and clamps on the sleeper. We will see a new Champion! Bruno fights his way to the ropes. He grabs them and the hold is broken. The match swings back and forth with both men enjoying success. They both tumble through the ropes and begin to slug it out on the floor. The referee’s count reaches 20 as both men battle down the aisle.
Result-Double Count Out (24:12)

Bruno and Justice were a tougher fight than I thought it would be.

The Andersons and The Knagaroos bout was great. Ole as "younger"? priceless.

Nice to see Gomez with a win against Texas Red.

Sullivan with a game effort against Brisco.

Great Cow Palace card.
