July 4, 1961 The first outdoor wrestling card of the summer season will be held at MEMORIAL STADIUM in Charlotte tonight. The top attraction offers BILLY "TARZAN" DARNELL against P.Y. CHUNG, the Chinese exponent of the "claw" hold, in a two-of-three falls encounter. Co-feature on the program will be KURT and KARL VON BRAUNER, newly-crowned tag team champs of the Southern realm, against GEORGE BECKER and CHIEF BIG HEART. There is also a girls tag team event, which should liven the ring party. Miss VICKY PAGE and Miss TERRY RAINER will battle it out with Miss MARGE RAMSEY and Miss PEGGY ALLEN. Two prelims complete the docket. ABE JACOBS, whose last test was against BUDDY ROGERS, faces JAN MADRID. LEE GARCIA and burly SWEDE HANSON open the card at 8:15 p.m. MEMORIAL STADIUM has long been a center for hot weather wrestling, and some of Promoter JIM CROCKETT's more noteworthy cards have been staged under the stars.
