Kaiser Convention Center
Oakland, CA

Opening Match, one fall, 20 minutes
Guy Lambert vs. Jerry Monti

These two veterans match holds and counter holds. Monti roughs up Lambert and wins with a bodyslam.
Winner-Jerry Monti (13:46)

Second Match, one fall, 20 minutes
Superfly Tui vs. Bill Francis

Two Hawaiians go at it in this one. It is a very scientific encounter. Both men gain nearfalls. The end comes when Francis catches Tui in the sleeper. Tui fights, but he’s out.
Winner-Bill Francis (14:37)

Third Match, one fall, 30 minutes
Johnny Karisma vs. Dominic DeNucci

DeNucci comes back to the singles ranks for tonight’s match. The big youngster, Karisma, will be a stiff test. Karsima jumps DeNucci before the bell. He works over Dominic. DeNucci rallies and the Oakland crowd gets behind him. He locks Karisma in the Boston crab and it’s all over
Winner-Dominic DeNucci (13:23)

Fourth Match, one fall, 30 minutes
Dr. Hiro Ota vs. Earl Maynard

The strongman from the Caribbean takes on the devious Japanese Doctor. The early part of the match is very even. Ota goes to the martial arts and Maynard is in trouble. Ota backs him into the corner and chokes away. He breaks at four and Earl is in trouble. The crowd gets behind Maynard and he rallies. He moves around Ota and clamps on the full Nelson. Ota fights, but he must submit.
Winner-Earl Maynard (15:43)

Fifth Match, one fall, 45 minutes
Sam Steamboat and Kevin Sullivan vs. Ripper Collins and Coloso Colosetti w/Saul Weingeroff

This will be a good one. Sullivan has taken the Hawaiian veteran as a partner. Colosetti and Collins have teamed before, so they may have the edge. Sullivan and Colosetti start the match. They match holds in a dizzying display of wrestling. Sullivan gets the better of things and Colosetti is frustrated. He tags in Collins. The “King” uses his size to subdue Sullivan. Kevin is able to tag in Steamboat and Sam goes to work. Both teams tag in and out and the match is very even. All four men end up in the ring and it’s a pier six brawl. The referee is distracted and Weingeroff passes an object to Colosetti. He decks Steamboat and covers him for the win.
Winners-Ripper Collins and Coloso Colosetti (19:54)

Semi-Final, one fall, 60 minutes
Tony Garea vs. Lord Jonathan Boyd w/J.C. Dykes

Garea and Dean Ho have been chasing the Royal Kangaroos and the Pacific Coast Tag Team belts. Tonight it will be one on one. Boyd waits in the ring with Norman Frederick Charles III and J.C. Dykes. Garea starts down the aisle and see the odds are 3:1. He goes back to the dressing room and returns with Dean Ho. The crowd goes crazy. J.C. Dykes is livid, but Ho stays. The match is very physical. Both men trade rights and lefts. Garea gains and edge, but Dykes distracts the official and Charles trips Garea. Ho points this out but it’s too late. Garea takes over, but each time Charles and Dykes interfere. Finally Ho has seen enough. All four men end up brawling in the ring and the referee disqualifies both teams.
Result-Double Disqualification (18:34)

Main Event, one fall, 60 minutes
Pacific Coast Championship
Bruno Sammartino (Champion) vs. Alexis Smirnoff

Sammartino met Ben Justice last night in a wild match. He cannot overlook the big Russian here in Oakland. The bell rings and both men circle one another. They lock up and Bruno’s strength takes over. He punishes Smirnoff with an armbar. The Russian gets to the ropes and the hold is broken. Bruno thwarts everything Smirnoff tries and the man from Stalingrad is frustrated. He tries the roughhouse tactics. They work for a while. He chokes away at Sammartino and the Champion is in trouble. Smirnoff covers Bruno and gets a two count. Sammartino kicks out and takes over. He matches Smirnoff punch and kick for punch and kick. He catches Samirnoff in the bearhug and the Russian submits.
Winner-Bruno Sammartino (19:58)
