CWF DAYTONA ARENA SHOW 7/29/77
Jul 30th, 2007, 9:40am

CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING FROM FLORIDA
PEABODY AUDITORIUM
DAYTONA, FLORIDA
JULY 29, 1977 7 PM
REFEREE: JIMMY TANAKA

Promoted by: CWF
Sanctioned by: NWA

Match 1-

DENNIS HALL defeats CHIN LEE with a bent knee back breaker.

Time: 8:29

Match 2-

HERCULES STEVENSON/ MACHO MAN JOHN RINGER defeat NELSON ROYAL/ CIEN CARAS

A high intensity match that sees Stevenson and Ringer take advantage of some mis-communication by Caras and Royal. In the end, Caras is going to Irish whip Stevenson into their corner. Stevenson reverses and Caras knocks Royal to the floor. Caras turns around and is met by a belly-to-belly from Stevenson for the win.

Time: 15:39

Match 3-

PAUL DEMARCO defeats EDDIE GRAHAM.

These two veterans go after each other as if they are young rookies that have something to prove. DeMarco works on Graham’s shoulders and neck. Graham takes out DeMarco’s right leg as best he can.

Late in the match, DeMarco and Graham collide. Demarco goes into Tanaka. As Tanaka is down, DeMarco throws a karate thrust to Graham’s throat. Paul lifts Graham into a bear hug and drops Eddie’s throat over the top rope. When Tanaka recovers, he sees DeMarco with a lateral press and makes the count.

Time: 15:02

Match 4-

MISSOURI MAULER defeats JIM BRUNZELL

Brunzell dominates this contest in the early going. Whether in the air or on the ground, Mauler has his problems. A low blow by Mauler out of the sight of Tanaka gets the man from Missouri back on track.

The turning point in this match comes when Macho Man John Ringer makes his way to ringside. He makes some discouraging remarks to Brunzell. Brunzell turns his back to Mauler and puts his upper body through the ropes. Mauler knees Brunzell to the floor. As Tanaka makes the ten count, Mauler slams Brunzell’s back into the ring apron. Mauler rolls Brunzell back into the ring. One power slam later, Mauler gets his hand raised.

Time: 17:29

Match 5-

FLORIDA TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH
THE SPOILER/ BUDDY WOLFF w/ SIR OLIVER HUMPERDINK and MIKE GRAHAM/ STEVE KEIRN wrestle to a DOUBLE COUNT OUT.

Humperdink gets his two cents in whenever his men get in trouble. Graham and Keirn are double teaming Wolff in their corner. Humperdink jumps on the ring apron. The Spoiler comes in and chop blocks Keirn’s left knee. The heels smell blood and jump on it. Humperdink slaps Keirn while he is on the ropes.

The faces rebound and have Spoiler on the ropes. Wolff comes in. Humperdink slips Spoiler an object that he puts in his glove. Spoiler clobbers Graham and the masked man drags him to his corner.

The match goes to the floor at the end. Humperdink gets in Keirn’s face. All heck breaks loose. Both teams bash each other back to the dressing room.

Time: 26:39

Match 6-

SOUTHERN HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH
AUSTIN IDOL defeats THE ASSASSIN w/ BUDDY COLT

Colt comes out with The Assassin, as he has been doing with every challenger to Idol’s title. He is carrying an atomizer, a reference to the late Bobby Shane, which has been a bone of contention between the two.

Assassin takes advantage of Idol being too aggressive as he charges into a corner. He goes to work on the champ’s right shoulder. Assassin snaps the arm across the top rope several times. After Idol is thrown to the floor, Colt runs the shoulder into a post while The Assassin argues.

Idol manages to rally somewhat, even though his right arm is useless. Idol manages to leg sweep Assassain down to the mat. Idol gets Assassin into the Las Vegas Leglock. Colt gets Idol’s attention. Idol breaks the hold and grabs Colt. Colt manages to throw the atomizer to The Assassin. Assassin swings at Idol. Idol ducks and Assassin hits Colt by mistake. Idol rolls up The Assassin, gets the three count, and rolls out of the ring.

Time: 33:29
