CHARLOTTE WRESTLING - FEBRUARY 9, 1959

It's "do or die" for GEORGE BECKER and Irish MIKE CLANCY as far as the Southern Tag Team Championship is concerned.

BECKER and CLANCY, the former champions, will get their second chance at recovering the crown in the headline bout of tonight's PARK CENTER wrestling card.

And if the popular pair fails to recover the trophy from the bearded SMITH BROTHERS, AL and JOHN, they can figure that they're out of the running as contenders for at least six months.

But with the added advantage of a TWO-HOUR time limit, BECKER and CLANCY are confident that they'll return to the throne before tonight's skirmishing is completed.

Last Monday night, GEORGE and MIKE won the bout's only fall in another bout with the SMITH BROTHERS, but they couldn't get the second fall that would have returned their championship. But with the two-hour time limit tonight, they figure that the SMITHs will be "duck soup" during the second sixty minutes.

The card's semi-final has Indian star BILLY TWO RIVERS taking on CHRIS ZAHARAS, and there's more tag team action which sends the TORRES BROTHERS, ENRIQUE and ALBERTO, against LARRY (Crusher) HAMILTON  and Irish JACK DONOVAN.

The 8:15 p.m. opener has rugged MIKE PAIDOUSUS, former football star, taking on JERRY CHRISTY for one fall, twenty minutes.
