AWA-CWA 7/28/77 Tupelo,MS The Brits are Back!
Jul 30th, 2007, 3:56pm

AWA-CWA Wrestling
Live from the Civic Auditorium, Tupelo, MS
Bell time 7/28/77 is 7:00 pm

1)      Bugsy McGraw defeats Ken Dillenger after a bruising splash in the corner.

2)      “Mr. Ebony” Tom Jones and Burrhead Jones defeat the Medics after Burrhead drills Medic #2 with a big headbutt and Mr. Ebony locks on the swinging full nelson to get a submission victory.

3)      Kelly Kiniski defeats Big Bill Howard with a Canadian back breaker.

4)      Sugar Bear Harris defeats Don Ross in a body slam match, pinning Ross before the muscle man can even attempt a body slam on Yamamoto’s massive man.

5)      In a huge 6-man tag team match up, Bobby Jaggers, Tito Montez, and Dutch Mantel defeat the Miser’s trio of the Spider, Dennis Condrey, and Phil Hickerson when Tito Montez is able to take the Spider down with a big flying head scissors. Jaggers and Mantel held back Condrey and Hickerson before they could break up the count.

6)      Tommy Gilbert and Black Angus Campbell wrestle to a double disqualification when both men shove down the official as he tires to separate the two men who are throwing thunderous fists.

7)      Tommy Rich and Ricky Fields defeat Marc Rocco and Jim Breaks to retain the AWA Southern Tag Team Titles in an amazing show of technical wrestling between the two teams. Lord John Raven directs his men, but the jet lag from their cross-country flight has taken too much out of them for this night.

8)      Pat Roach and Jerry Lawler fight to a double count out as their fight spills to the outside. Lawler still is riled up after being passed over for the title shot on Television.

9)      “Rugged” Ron Garvin defeats Ron Bass by disqualification when Tojo Yamamoto is caught pulling the feet from under Garvin as he sets up for most likely a sunset flip to finish off the Southern Heavyweight Champion. Bass keeps the title, but it appears that Garvin has the number of the champion.

Garvin has the champ's number is right.

Lawler is still frustrated? That's not good.

The Brits are cooking their own goose by spreading themselves too thin. Fields and Rich were lucky.

Nice to see Montez with the pin in the six man.

Kiniski is moving up the card very well.

Great show, Midwest.

--Very good show
--Good win by Bugsy
--Good six man
--Lawler still ticked and that's not good for Garvin
--Garvin needs a fence to win the gold

Another good show. Garvin will eventually catch up to Bass.
