WRESTLING - CHARLOTTE, N.C. - JANUARY 4, 1960
Jul 31st, 2007, 6:21pm

Two unbeaten giants of Charlotte wrestling, PAUL ANDERSON and HAYSTACK CALHOUN, will attempt to preserve their record and thereby capture the Southern Tag Team Championship at PARK CENTER tonight.

The massive partners, who teamed up only recently to become the heftiest tag duo in the business, will seek the title now held by THE GREAT BOLO and LARRY (Crusher) HAMILTON.

Anderson, Olympic weightlifting champion, weighs in at 305 pounds and never has been taken off his feet in a Charlotte ring. His buddy, CALHOUN, weighs 601 pounds and has never lost here.

But don't think a win over the current champs will be easy. BOLO and HAMILTON are as mean, tough and tricky as they come. They wouldn't hold the tag team title if they were cream puffs.

The championship match is two-of-three falls, one hour limit.

The semi-final brings feuding KARL VON HESS and GEORGE SCOTT together, and two prelim bouts have ANTONE (The Ripper) LEONE battling BOBBY CHRISTY, and SANDY SCOTT going against JACK TERRY.
