I like Raw. WWE does more crazy and sometimes even shocking stuff on Raw.

Depends on what you're looking for.  The actual wrestling is probably better on SmackDown! (although, RAW's getting a little better, slowly but surely).

RAW has, at least IMO, the bigger names, and like johnnyc said, there's usually a lot more stuff going on, which can be good or bad, depending on how you look at it.

One thing I will say for RAW, at least last week, it focused a lot more on in-ring wrestling, instead of backstage stuff, and the upsets of Kennedy over Lashley and Carlito over Cena gave it more of an upredictable feeling than it's had lately.

And, if you want to waste an hour of your life that you'll never get back, there's always ECW!  Grin Smiley Tongue

I don't watch either show much, but I guess I watch Raw more frequently.

These shows seems so synthetic and out of touch with the fans - forced humour, meaningless matches, talent that isn't over but they act like their over - the complete opposite of what they used to be, and what I'm used to pro-wrestling being....

The BADLY EDITED canned crowd noise on Smackdown drives me insane....

But I still watch - I enjoy the good things and hope the wrestlers do well. I also hope the  pushes & style changes that bring the next wrestling boom are right around the corner, and that the 'E recognisez its mistakes and makes the appropriate changes....

One thing I will say about RAW, there have been some things over the last few weeks (although just small things) that have been a step in the right direction, at least IMO.

Like the upsets this past week, I mean, who really thought that Lawler would beat King Booker?  The fact that Booker was DQ'd for continuing to pummel Lawler on the corner, when's the last time we saw that?

The squash match with Cryme Tyme.  Granted, the part after the match went on way too long, but still, it's been a long time since we've seen anything even remotely close to a squash match.  I think the last one, that I can remember anyways, is when they were first building Umaga up, they'd have him squash some poor schmoe week after week.

Like I say, there's still a lot of bad things, but things like these give me some hope that maybe they'll start changing direction, even if just a little bit.

It's not just Raw, all WWE referees were told to enforce the rules to make the matches seem more real. I've seen count outs by close call and a couple of DQs for not breaking by the 5 count and other infractions that the referees had just ignored for years. The womens outfits have been toned down. Vince seems to be worried about their image for now. But they will go back to the old formula soon.

As far as which is better, neither. Smackdown had more wrestling than Raw until they moved several of the wresters to Raw. The loss of the more technical wrestlers (Benoit included) put Smackdown in the same format as Raw. Shorter matches and more filler.

I believe another thing that hurts Smackdown is the fact that the show is not live. By recording it on Tuesday nights and having the results show up on the internet, less people will tend to tune in, thus hurting the ratings. I, too, am not a fan of the backstage garbage. I can see doing the backstage interviews and the sneak attacks that come during those interviews, but all the crap in the GM's office or the like needs to go.

Yep - BUT from my perspective, if Smackdown looks good and the reports are good, then I'll tune in....if it looks like a bad show then I won't tune in.

If they had it live, if I saw an uninspiring show I likely would'nt watch the next week away....
