The camera zooms in on a poster for the big cards on August 6th and 7th. Rick James welcomes the crowd to the WAPA Channel 4 Studios in San Juan, Puerto Rico for “Superestrellas de la Luche Libre”. The show returns to St. James at ringside. He calls out a man he says is an enormous wrestling star in Japan, who now can achieve that some status here in Puerto Rico…ANTONIO INOKI. The whistles that are the Puerto Rican equivalent of American cheering go up for the Japanese star.

He tells James that he has recently been in sections of the Southern United States wrestling. The talk in the locker room was that a group of the most talented wrestlers in the world were assembling in Puerto Rico and that he told his manager he wanted to be a part of that. St. James wishes him well in his first match at the Channel 4 studios. Inoki enters the ring.

ANTONIO INOKI vs. JACK ARMSTRONG

Despite Armstrong landing a series of bone-crunching body slams and a corkscrew elbow drop, Inoki pretty much dominates the contest. He hits Armstrong with an ensiguri kick to the back of the head for the win @ 4:44.

WINNER: ANTONIO INOKI

As Inoki shakes hands with the studio crowd, he makes his way to the back. St. James tells the TV audience that the controversial Professional is up next.

A film clip shows The Professional in a match from Juan Pachin Vicens Auditorium in Ponce, Puerto Rico. After putting The Super Gladiator to sleep, The Pro refuses to wake him up. Huracan Castillo comes out to wake Gladiator up. The Pro argues.

St. James says when he asked The Professional about this ruthless tactic, He was told to mind his own business. He’ll try again after this match.

THE PROFESSIONAL vs. THE AVENGER

The Avenger has the big advantage early on. He works on the arm of The Professional, figuring the sleeper would be less effective later on. Sometimes the best laid plans don’t always work. The Avenger lowers his head too quickly for a backdrop. A big boot by The Professional is followed up by a sleeper @ 5:34.

WINNER: THE PROFESSIONAL

Once again, The Professional does not wake up his opponent. He starts to walk away when he is confronted by Huracan Castillo. After a heated, nose-to-nose argument, Castillo leaps quickly to the ring to wake The Avenger up. The Professional says that is not over. The camera fades to black.

A VTR from Gorilla Monsoon airs with the star having the Puerto Rican Title draped over his shoulder. He talks about the title shot he has against Terry Funk on August 7th.  The stars of WWC will present many challenges for the Puerto Rican title and Monsoon says he is up for it.

Rick St. James returns to ringside holding a derby. He says that film aficionados will recognize it as the lead-lined weapon used by Oddjob in the James Bond movies. It is the property of the man in our next match, Tosh Togo.

TOSH TOGO vs. DOUG SOMMERS

The powerful Oriental star is dominant against Sommers. Togo focuses on the stomach muscles, landing several knees from the middle rope to Sommers’ abdominals. The match ends when Togo locks his stomach claw, causing Sommers to scream his submission @ 4:23.

WINNER: TOSH TOGO

Togo is joined at ringside by St. James.

Togo quickly throws the derby against a studio wall. He then stares in the camera and says he is a star in wrestling all over the world as well as a movie star internationally. He will show that big goof Inoki what true Japanese torture is with the stomach claw. A pig squealing will sound a lot like Inoki.

Togo bows several times and makes pig noises. St. James seems annoyed as he tells the audience Gil Hayes and Rock Riddle make their Puerto Rican tag debut next.

A VTR from Carlos Colon and Andre the Giant airs. Colon talks about what a rush it was when they won the WWWF tag team title together. Being from Puerto Rico, he could think of no other place he would want at shot at the NWA Tag Team Titles to be held than here. Andre says August 6th will be day one of their NWA Title reign.

St. James says Gil Hayes has been a champion in Puerto Rico before and has taken Rock Riddle as his partner to become a champion again.

GIL HAYES/ ROCK RIDDLE vs. EL TIGRE PEREZ/ ABE JACOBS

The two blonde bombers come to the ring in elaborate robes. They are flashing money to the members of the studio. They don’t allow the ring attendants to touch their robes but they put the robes around the ring post instead.

The match starts with Jacobs and Perez working well together. Riddle is trapped in the corner until he lands a vicious clothesline on Perez. The heels double team Perez. The one on the outside taunts the crowd with trinkets from the robes, like watches and money. They said that’s what real men have. Hayes traps Perez in an Indian Death Lock for the win @ 5:21.

WINNER: HAYES/ RIDDLE

Several women come from the back and accompany Riddle and Hayes to ringside.

They take the mike from St. James. Hayes says that men hate them for what they are. Women love them for what they want. Riddle asks the ladies if he and Riddle have what it takes. Both women say they are still too wiped out to talk about it. Hayes says they have pressing business right now but they will be back next week to talk about what they will be reaching for in WWC. The ladies beg Hayes and Riddle to reach for them. Hayes and Riddle smile and escort the ladies out.

St. James reminds the fans that Huracan Castillo will wrestle in the main event today against Super Medico. He wonders out loud where The Professional might be.

A VTR shows several teams that will compete in the WWC Tag Team Tournament: Victor Rivera/ Hercules Ayala, The Infernos w/ Homer O’Dell, King Curtis/ High Chief Avi and Tony Garea/ Dean Ho. The tag belts come on the screen with the WWC logo.

HURACAN CASTILLO vs. SUPER MEDICO

Medico starts the match by working on Castillo’s left arm. He snaps it over the tope rope and against the ring post. Eventually, even though Castillo has only one good arm, he still uses the other one to give Medico an Asiatic Spike. He manages to get to the top rope to try a missile dropkick. The Professional comes out and pushes Castillo off the rope. He hits hard and Medico is able to trap him in a cradle @ 5:55.

WINNER:  SUPER MEDICO

St. James tells the audience that the best wrestling comes from the best paradise—Puerto Rico. So long for now!
