Match #1
1 fall, 20 minute time limit
Mike "Porky" Loren defeats
Edouard Carpentier.
The fans were solidly behind Carpentier in this opening contest. Loren paced around ringside, a downright evil look in his eyes, just glaring at some of the ringside fans, before entering the ring. Carpentier dominated the match for the most part, but couldn't put Loren away. Late in the match, Loren turned things around, Carpentier whipped him into the ropes, but put his head down too early. Loren responded with a vicious kick, similar to a field-goal kick, right between Carpentier's eyes, laying him out on the mat. With the former World Champion slowly getting to his knees, Loren got down on all fours and proceeded to headbutt Carpentier repeatedly in the stomach. With Carpentier in a bad way, Loren then came off the ropes and splashed Carpentier, leading to the pinfall in what has to be considered a big upset!
Match #2
1 fall, 20 minute time limit
Greg Valentine defeats
Wilbur Snyder.
Valentine is slow and methodical to start this match. Snyder keeps trying to pick up the pace, but Valentine refuses, instead getting Wilbur down on the mat and wearing him down. Snyder eventually turned things around and kept trying to lock on the Abdominal Stretch, but each time tried, Valentine would find a way out of it. In the end, Valentine clipped the knee of Snyder, then immediately went to work on the knee. Valentine eventually locked on the Figure Four Leglock for the submission victory.
Match #3
1 fall, 30 minute time limit
The Graham Brothers & Bruce Swayze fought
Luis Martinez & Fred Curry & Gino Brito to a DRAW.
The two teams went back and forth early on. The Grahams used some double-teaming to keep Brito in their corner, but Martinez came to his aid, for the next few minutes, Martinez, Curry and Brito enjoy the advantage. Martinez hits the Mexican Stump Puller on Swayze, but before he could pin him, Luke Graham breaks it up with a knee to the back of Luis' head. Fred Curry comes in and sends Graham from the ring with a standing dropkick. Curry and Martinez then pick Swayze up and whip him into the ropes, connecting with a double dropkick. Martinez again goes for the pin, but at the count of 2, the bell rings! The ring announcer comes in and announces the official decision...the match is a draw!
Match #4
1 fall, 30 minute time limit
Abdullah the Butcher w/ Bruce Swayze defeats
Dino Bravo.
The fans quickly get behind Bravo here, as he squares off with the hated Butcher. Swayze tries to get involved early on, but Bravo will have none of it, and knocks Swayze off the ring apron with a big right hand! The fans errupt, but their celebration is short-lived, as this gives the Butcher a chance to attack Bravo from behind, and he takes full advantage of the opportunity. For the next few minutes, Abdullah tears Bravo apart! Dino won't stay down, and turns things around late in the match. He has the Butcher wobbly with a series of running clotheslines, then a picture-perfect standing dropkick sends the Butcher to the mat. Bravo runs the ropes...but gets tripped by Swayze from the floor! Bravo falls forward, landing face-first on the mat. The Butcher slowly gets up, then scoops Bravo back up, slams him to the mat, and hits the Sudanese Elbowdrop, leading to the pinfall.
Match #5
1 fall, 60 minute time limit
Johnny Powers fought
BlackJack Mulligan to a Double Count-Out.
The Pittsburgh fans are on their feet at the Civic Arena as Johnny Powers makes his return to Pittsburgh! Powers climbs into the ring, and gets blindsided by Mulligan! For the next few minutes, BlackJack pummels Powers, there's nothing pretty about this, nothing even resembling a wrestling hold, Mulligan simply pounds his opponent into the mat! Powers makes a comeback, but it's short-lived, as a rake of the eyes from Mulligan stops Powers dead in his tracks. Mulligan is unable to put Powers, somehow, Johnny keeps kicking out of pin attempts, no matter how much punishment Mulligan dishes out. Late in the match, Powers turns things around again, and a running shoulderblock sends Mulligan tumbling through the ropes and to the floor. Powers quickly follows him out. On the floor, Powers goes to slam Mulligan's head into the ring apron, but BlackJack blocks it, and it's Johnny's head meeting the side of the ring instead. But when Mulligan goes to ram his head into the ringpost, this time it's Powers who blocks it, and slams Mulligan head-first into the steel post instead! With Mulligan in a bad way, the bell suddenly rings, and it's announced that the referee has counted BOTH men out of the ring!
This doesn't seem to matter, as Mulligan and Powers continue to brawl on the floor, eventually making their way from ringside, towards the backstage area.
