Aug 11th, 2007, 9:12am

AWA-CWA Wrestling
Live from the Louisville Gardens, Louisville, KY
Bell time 8/8/77 is 7:30 pm

1)      George Welles defeats Big Bill Howard with a football tackle.

2)      “Mr. Ebony” Tom Jones defeats Ken Dillenger with a swinging full nelson.

3)      “Canada’s next Great Athlete” Kelly Kiniski defeats Black Angus Campbell by count out after knocking Angus off the ring apron as he was trying to reenter the ring. Angus’s head hit the steel ring post and he couldn’t shake the cobwebs loose fast enough to get back in the ring.

4)      Sugar Bear Harris defeats Mighty Ursa in a body slam match that sees the two bears brawling around the ring. Harris finally survives with a big splash in the corner and powerful body slam of his own to finish off Mighty Ursa.

5)      “The Fabulous One” Jackie Fargo and Tommy Gilbert defeat the Medics after Fargo hits an atomic knee drop on Medic #2

6)      The Spider defeats Dutch Mantel in a violent match that sees the masked man get the pin thanks to a loaded mask shot and a flying elbow drop

7)      Jerry “the King” Lawler and Pat Roach battle to a double count out in a match to try and secure a shot at the AWA World Heavyweight Title. Lawler was near the top of his game, but Lord Raven’s presence ended up getting the match thrown out as he pulled Lawler to the outside.

8)      AWA Southern Heavyweight Champion Ron Bass and Ron Garvin battle to a 45 minute time limit draw that saw Bass on his bicycle all match trying to keep out of the reach of Garvin, who up to recently has obviously had the number of the champion. Garvin finally cornered the champion and worked him over, but couldn’t put him away before the time limit ran out.

Lawler against Roach was the most intriguing, as it involved Lawler in the BBC angle.

Kiniski and Campbell is a good program but I would like to see Kiniski go against other BBC members.

Good to see Welles with a win.

Mantel vs. the Miser's men is a good mid-card angle.

Memphis is hot.
