AWA PNW 8/11/1977
Aug 12th, 2007, 9:19pm

PNW TV 8/11/1977

Frank Bonema is in the Crow's Nest. He brings in the man who holds a guaranteed PNW Tag Title Match against the Champions, Buddy Rose and Baron Von Raschke, Ricky Martel. Martel says that he is ready for the shot, and has chosen the man who has taught him so much about wrestling, former World Heavyweight Champion Gene Kiniski to be his partner, Martel says that they won't have to wait long, he has talked to Don Owen and his is cashing in his title match NEXT WEEK!!

Lumberjack Luke defeats Matti Suzuki with a Running Double ax Handle to the back of the head. After the match Luke grabs the actual ax Handle he carries to the ring with him, and starts to choke Suzuki with it until Paddy Ryan comes out and puts a stop to it.

Crow's Nest interview with PNW Champion Crusher Blackwell, Blackwell still is demanding a World Title shot. Blackwell lists all the men he has crushed as Champion, as he did last week. Col Buck Robley decides he has heard enough and enters the Crow's Nest. He and Blackwell have heated words, and Robley lays it on the line for him, if Blackwell wants a World Title shot, he has to beat Robley since  Robley is still ranked the #1 contender to the World Title in the Northwest. Blackwell says that he will crush Robley just as he has everyone else. Robley says that Blackwell is welcome to try, but if Blackwell gets in the ring with him, Robley will give the fans what they want, a champion they can cheer, because he will take the PNW Championship off Blackwell.

Dan Kroffat and Rudy Kay defeat Davey O'Hannon and The Scorpion in a back and forth battle by DQ when Sweet Daddy Siki and The Super Destroyer attack Kroffat and Kay. Its 4 on two until Frank Dusek and Steven Little Bear come to the rescue. Kroffat grabs a microphone and tells Super Destroyer this has gone on long enough and challenges Destroyer to a match, a match where Kroffat will put his hair on the line vs. The Super Destroyers MASK!!!

Main Event Two Out of Three Falls:  Sweet Daddy Siki brings out The Super Destroyer to face “Tough” Tony Bourne. Siki says the Destroyer has nothing to gain in a match with Kroffat, Kroffat has never defeated The Super Destroyer and until  Kroffat can give Destroyer a good reason to face him, that match won't happen, no matter how much they would like to see Krofat as a bald headed geek. Super Destroyer wins the first fall of the contest when he surprises Tony Bourne with a clothesline, Bourne wins the second fall via DQ when Siki interferes once too often, which prompts Dan Kroffat to come out of the locker room to stand in Bourne's corner for the third fall!!!

Before the third and final fall Frank Bonema interviews Buddy Rose and his Army of Bruiser Bob Sweetan and Baron Von Raschke. Rose says he heard Rick Martel earlier and Rose is against this title match. He says he and Raschke have had no time to prepare, that they have been caught off guard and this is totally a conspiracy against the Army by Don Owen and the American Wrestling Association. Rose says he has half a mind to walk out of PNW with the belts, but he has a public duty to preform, he and the Army have to remove that barefoot, coconut eating savage Jimmy Snuka from wrestling for the safety off all the wrestlers and the fans. If it wasn't for that he would just leave, he really would. Rose tells Martel that he and that “dinosaur” Gene Kiniski can have their title match next week, but reminds them, they have to beat the Army to become the Champions, the Army doesn't have to beat them to keep the belts. Rose then walks away and Raschke puts an exclamation point on everything when he yells “AND DATS ALL DA PEOPLE NEED TA KNOW!!!”

Dan Kroffat gives The Super Destroyer the reason he needed in the third and final fall. Destroyer just couldn't put away Bourne, and had him slumped in the corner. He gave Siki the high sign to distract the referee and like clock work, Siki jumps on the apron to do so. While the referee's back is turned, Destroyer starts to load his mask, but what he doesn't count on is Kroffat using Siki's distraction to his advantage as he slides in the ring and just about takes The Super Destroyer's head off with a Savate Kick!!! Kroffat rolls out of the ring before the referee sees him and Siki is a wreck yelling that Kroffat interfered!! Bourne pulls himself out of the corner and hits the ropes, dropping a Big Legdrop across Destroyer's chest!! Bourne covers and Siki tries to get in the ring but Kroffat stops him!! Bourne pins The Super Destroyer for the victory. Siki and a loopy Super Destroyer stand shocked in the ring as Kroffat raises Bourne's arm in victory in the aisle as the show goes off the air.

That's going to be a great match next week, hopefully we'll see Kiniski and Martel leave as the new PNW Tag Team Champions!

Blackwell's right, he's crushed everyone that he's been in the ring with, it's time Bockwinkel stops ducking him and gives him the title shot that he deserves.

Look big daddy, it's regular daddy.

El Mariachi: You want me to shoot the cook?
Agent Sands: No. I'll shoot the cook. My car's parked out back anyway.

Blackwell can't back it up, IMO. He doesn't have what it takes to beat Brock.

Martel and Kiniski would make great tag champs.

Big upset for Borne. Kroffat and Super D will be a tough match up.

Great TV.
