All matches under supervision of the State of Texas Athletic Board. Steve Stack: "Folks, welcome to another action packed hour of Championship Rasslin', and folks, what an hour we have for you today. We have brand new International Heavyweight Champion and he is the great Dory Funk Junior! That’s right folks, Dory defeated the Super Destroyer in the Texas Death and both men certainly have the scars to show for it. His brother Terry Funk successfully defended the NWA World Heavyweight Title and defeated Jack Brisco in the center of the ring. Unfortunately, it’s not all good news fans because Gino Hernandez and Jerry Brisco are STILL your Western States Tag Team Champions. They did manage to defeat Jose Lothario and Andre The Giant, but I would like to stress that it was only thanks to help from this mystery man that Bobby Davis has brought to Western States Sports. We’ll have more on this later in the hour and we’ll also the big tag team match between THE BRAND NEW NWA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS Jesse Ventura & Ken Patera and their opponents Western States Heavyweight Champion Dick Murdoch and his unlikely partner Lanny Poffo. Also, as any fans that were in attendance back on the 2nd saw, Jerry Oates suffered an injury to his right leg that will keep him out of action for an indefinite period of time. However, Jerry has personally brought in a replacement to team with Paul Orndorff on any tag team matches that had been signed for that team. That young man is a good friend of Paul’s named Brian Blair and we’ll see these two young men in action today. Don't touch that dial more Championship Rasslin is on its way!”

Steve Stack: “Paul, please give us an update on Jerry Oates’ condition and introduce us all to this young man standing with you.”
Paul Orndorff: “Well Mr. Stack, those Australians managed to do quite a number on Jerry’s knee and he underwent surgery last night. It looks like the surgery was a success and hopefully Jerry will be back here in Amarillo in no time. That said, Jerry and I had signed for several tag team matches and he and I both wanted to make sure the tag team matches still take place. So, Jerry and I called up this man, Brian Blair, to come in and team up with me here in Amarillo. Let me tell you, I’ve known Brian A LONG TIME and he’s one of the toughest men in rasslin’ today.”
Steve Stack: “I have no doubts about that. Brian, welcome to Amarillo.”
Brian Blair: “Thank you very much, Mr. Stack. Jerry Oates is a man who helped me break into professional wrestling and I have the utmost respect for him. I am truly honored that he would pick me to take his place and team with Paul. I think we’re going to have a lot of success and entertain these great fans. And Australians, we’ll take you on any place and any time.”
Steve Stack: “We’ll see young gentlemen in action a little later on in the program.”

PAUL ORNDORFF + BRIAN BLAIR def. FRANK DALTON + THE MASKED X, 6:11 Fans, look at this entourage- IT’S GINO HERNANDEZ, GIANT BABA, THE MONGOLIAN STOMPER, THE WILD BULL CURRY, “THE MANAGER OF CHAMPIONS” BOBBY DAVIS AND THIS MYSTERY MAN IN THE KENDO MASK!!
Steve Stack: “Well Bobby, your men did manage to keep the Western States Tag Team Titles and put Jose Lothario out of action like you said you would, but not without A LOT of help from this masked men. Just who is?”
Bobby Davis: “First of all, Steve, Gino and Jerry won that match fair and square and followed every single NWA rule! Now as far as this man standing next to me, well, I guess a proper introduction is needed. Like I said, Giant Baba discovered this man in his travels in Singapore. The man was trained in the Samurai arts in Tokyo and he wears the war paint as a tribute to his heritage. Next week right here on Championship Rasslin, you people are gonna see this man in action. You’re gonna see the man that is known all around the world as THE GREAT KABUKI!!”
Gino Hernandez: “That’s right, the Great Kabuki is here in Amarillo and Gorgeous Gino is oh…so…glad he’s on my side, Stevie! As you can see, Gorgeous Gino is still one-half of YOUR Western States Tag Team Champions and that certainly isn’t going to change any time soon. I know I can speak for Jerry and you Bobby, when I say to any teams who want a championship match against us, well BRING IT ON because Gorgeous Gino and Jerry Brisco is the best team in the world to-day! HAHA!”
Bobby Davis: “…And I have a few more thing to say and the first thing I want to say is to Dick Murdoch. Murdoch, don’t you ever think that Giant Baba forgot when you hit him with that steel. He’s waiting to pay you back and that payback is coming very soon. And lastly, I want to say one more thing and it is directed you, to Dory Funk Jr. Dory, as much as I hate to admit it, you are the undisputed International Heavyweight Champion. Soon enough though, you’re going to have to defend that belt against the members of the Bobby Davis Family and when that day comes, well, you can kiss that belt goodbye, jack! HAHA!”
Steve Stack: “We’ve heard a lot from these men. Let’s take a few moments to digest all that they’ve told us.”

The NWA World Tag Team Champions- JESSE “THE BODY” VENTURA & KEN PATERA- join Steve Stack!
Steve Stack: “Well, here they are, the brand new NWA World Tag Team Champions Jesse Ventura & Ken Patera. Gentlemen, your opponents today Dick Murdoch and Lanny Poffo thought they’d be facing The Andersons…”
Jesse Ventura: “YEAH THAT’S RIGHT, Kenny and I are stuck doing the dirty work of those two spudheads that used to have these belts. It’s bad enough that we’re stuck in a D-Level city like Amarillo, but we gotta face two guys who aren’t even in contention for our belts? It seems to me that the NWA don’t like Jesse The Body and Ken Patera because they can’t control, so they’re trying to put us in the ring with any two punks off the street!”
Ken Patera: “It’s not right, Jesse! We’re the victims of bias and conspiracy!”
Jesse Ventura: “Calm down, Kenny, when it all comes down to it, it don’t matter because we ARE the NWA World Tag Team Champions. That means we ARE the best tag team in all of professional wrestling today! So we’re going to get into that ring and pound on those two jokers and head back to New York City, where you can walk down the street without being caught in a cattle herd! HAHAHA!”
Steve Stack: “We’ll just see about that, gentlemen, because you’re match is coming up right now. I suggest you gentlemen go to the ring.”
NWA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
JESSE “The Body” VENTURA + KEN PATERA (REIGNING CHAMPIONS)
VS.
WESTERN STATES HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION DICK MURDOCH + LANNY POFFO The NWA World Tag Team Champions Jesse Ventura & Ken Patera attack Dick Murdoch & Lanny Poffo as they enter the ring and really do a number on them in the opening moments, until order is restored by the official. Once the match officially begins, Ventura and Patera continue to make tags and work over young Lanny Poffo, isolating him from his corner. Jesse “The Body” picks up Lanny Poffo and hoists him onto his shoulder and then drives him into the mat with a shoulder-breaker that nearly gives the reigning champions the win. Jesse Ventura and Ken Patera then make quick tags and continue to pound on Poffo for the next few minutes, making it look like they have this match well under their control.
Steve Stack: “The tape machines are rolling. We have to take a break, but if the conclusion comes during our time away, we’ll show you the footage as soon as we get back.”

As we come break from commercial break, Ken Patera is decking Lanny Poffo in the corner and then tags out to Jesse “The Body”. Ventura then picks Poffo up again and drags him towards the champions’ corner, but Poffo manages to come out of nowhere with a stray right hand that knocks Jesse for a loop. Young Lanny begins to crawl towards his corner as Jesse Ventura makes the tag to Ken Patera, who stomps into the ring and grabs Poffos ankle. Out of complete desperation, Lanny Poffo uses his other leg and drives his boot into Ken Pater’s gut and then rolls into his corner and makes the big tag to the fired up Western States Heavyweight Champion! Dick Murdoch comes in and nails both opponents with right hands and then throws Ken Patera over the top rope to the apron. Jesse Ventura soon tags in and tries to clothesline Dick Murdoch, but Murdoch blocks it and shoots Jesse off the ropes. Murdoch manages to catch Ventura in A SLEEPER HOLD!!
BUT LOOK- HERE COMES BOBBY DAVIS AND HE IS LEADING THE GREAK KABUKI, THE MONGOLIAN STOMPER, AND GIANT BABA INTO THE RING!!! THEY ATTACK DICK MURDOCH RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE REFEREE, WHO HAS NO CHOICE BUT TO CALL FOR THE DISQUALIFICATION!! AND LET’S NOT FORGET, NWA WORLD TITLES
CANNOT CHANGE HANDS ON A DISQUALIFICATION OR COUNT-OUT!!!!
Now The Stomper and Great Kabuki are man-handling young Lanny Poffo in the corner as Jesse Ventura and Ken Patera are working over Dick Murdoch. Murdoch is fighting back with rights and lefts, BUT GIANT BABA STRIKES HIM WITH A CHAIR FROM BEHIND!!! DOWN GOES THE WESTERN STATES HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION!!! Giant Baba then reaches down and applies some sort of nerve hold on Dick Murdoch, rendering the mighty Texas virtually helpless and unable to help young Lanny Poffo, who’s being assaulted by The Mongolian Stomper and The Great Kabuki!
FROM THE BACK- HERE COMES CYCLONE NEGRO!!! HERE COMES MIKE JACKSON!!! HERE COMES PAUL ORNDORFF & BRIAN BLAIR!!! AND HERE COMES…
INTERNATIONAL HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION DORY…FUNK…JUNIOR!!!!! Funk leads the charge and storms into the ring, going to town first on Bobby Davis and then on The Mongolian Stomper!! Paul Orndorff and Brian Blair are going toe-to-toe with the NWA World Tag Team Champions, while Mike Jackson kicks Giant Baba in the face, breaking the nerve hold on Murdoch. Dick fights back to his feet and now he’s decking the “monster who ate Tokyo!!” Now, Great Kabuki blows mist into his hands and attacks Mike Jackson from behind, landing several kicks.
FINALLY, Joe Blanchard arrives with the entire Amarillo locker-room to break up this giant brawl. As the sides are separated, Steve Stack speaks.
Steve Stack: “What a WILD scene, folks! We have to take a break as things cool down and then we’ll be back with our remaining moments.”

A furious DICK MURDOCH & DORY FUNK JR. have joined us for some quick comments.
Dick Murdoch: “Steve, I hope you’ll excuse me because I ain’t as composed as I normally am out here. BOBBY DAVIS, AH AM SICK AND TIRED OF YOU AND YOUR CRONIES ALWAYS GET INVOLVED WHERE YOU DON’T BELONG!! IT ALL ENDS TONIGHT, YA HEAR!!! I DON’T CARE THAT YOU GOT SOME GIANT FREAK IN YOUR GROUP!!! I DON’T CARE THAT YOU GOT SOME MAN FROM THE ORIENT WHO SPITS OUT POISON!! BOBBY DAVIS, DORY AND I, WE WANT TO MAKE OURSELVES REAL CLEAR!!! YOU SAY YOU WANT TO TAKE OVER ALL OF PROFESSIONAL RASSLIN, WELL YOU’RE GONNA HAVE TO GO THROUGH US TO DO IT!!!”
Dory Funk Junior: “Davis, plain and simple, if you want a war, you got one! We’re gonna clean things up around here and it’s gonna start this Thursday night at the Sports Arena. You’ve been using the sneak attacks to get the advantage on Murdoch and I for long enough. Thursday night, The Mongolian Stomper and Giant Baba, are going to have to get in the ring IN A WRESTLING MATCH! I don’t think they can beat us, Dickie!”
Dick Murdoch: “I know that can’t, Junior!”
Steve Stack: “WOW- some added fuel to fire for this Thursday night’s Sports Arena match pitting Murdoch and Funk against Bobby Davis’ Mongolian Stomper and Giant Baba. Welp, folks, we are outta time, make sure to come on out to the Sports Arena this Thursday night and we’ll see you next week on Championship rasslin'!”
