Both men are looking to move up the card, but Malone was the better man this night. 3) Tito Montez defeats Ken Dillenger with a flying head scissors in a good match between junior heavyweights. 4) In a body slam match, Sugar Bear Harris defeats former San Francisco 49er George Welles. Welles twice appeared ready to slam the big Sugar Bear, but both times Tojo Yamamoto kept his man and money safe. Harris got the win after splashing Welles and then slamming him hard in the center of the ring. 5) Dutch Mantel and the Spider brawl to a bloody double count out as neither man can answer a ten count in the ring from the referee. Even through his mask, the blood loss is visible for the Spider. 6) In a big 6-man tag team match, Roger Kirby, John Tolos, and Kelly Kiniski defeat the BBC trio of Jim Breaks, Marc Rocco, and Black Angus Campbell after Kirby is able to hit a pile driver on Campbell in the ring while referee Tommy Morton is trying to break up the brawl between the Brits, Tolos and Kiniski on the outside. 7) The AWA Southern Tag Team Champions Phil Hickerson and Dennis Condrey defeat the veteran duo of Tommy Gilbert and the fabulous Jackie Fargo when Hickerson is able to get Fargo into a small package after Jackie got a little too cocky and started to strut after hitting his patented atomic knee drop. 8) Jerry “the King” Lawler defeats Outlaw Ron Bass with a fist drop off the second rope for the victory in a non-title match. Lawler looked like he was very focused, keeping the champion reeling until the very end.
