WWWF Catch up, includes MSG: Graham v Funk
Aug 16th, 2007, 7:38pm

Things are going to be short and sweet for a bit until things settle down a little here. Hope this is gets everything across:

WWWF Championship Wrestling for 7/28:

Vince McMahon presented Superstar Graham with the remains of the WWWF Title belt, Graham swore he would get his revenge on Funk and Patterson for what they did, not matter how long it took or what he had to do. He said he is going to start with Funk by taking the one thing that means more to him then anything else in this World, the NWA World Title.

Also on the show: WWWF Tag Team Champions Chief Jay Strongbow and Carlos Colon defeated The Golden Terrors; Nikolai Volkoff defeated Danny Johnson, but when he tried to continue the assault on Johnson, Gorilla Monsoon came out and stopped him; Pat Patterson with the Grand Wizard were interviewed and Patterson was full of himself and very proud of what he had done. He called Graham a coward and said if he was a real man he would put the WWWF Title on the line against him, but he won't because he knows he will loose it, he told Graham the belt now represented him to a T, a broken title for a broken man; Ivan Putski, Victor Rivera and SD Jones fought to a TV Time Limit Draw with Spiros Arion, Jerry Valiant and Butcher Nova

WWWF Championship Wrestling for 8/4:

Vince McMahon reveals that Jesse Ventura and Ken Patera have defeated The Andersons to become the NWA World Tag Team Champions in St Louis. WWWF Tag Team Champions Chief Jay Strongbow and Carlos Colon join Vince and say they feel they deserve a shot at the titles, since they beat Ventura and Patera for the WWWF Tag Team Titles. Lou Albano comes out and swears that Strongbow and Colon will never get a shot at the World Belts, Colon goes after Albano when King Curtis and Baron Scicluna attack Colon and Strongbow and leave them laying in the aisle.

Also on the show: Tony Atlas makes Bud Osbourne submit to the Full Nelson; Tony Marino and Anthony Parisi beat Bull Pompetti and Pete Sanchez, this match happens right after the attack on Strongbow and Colon who are being attended to in the aisle during the match, Pat Patterson with The Grand Wizard defeated Pat Barrett, Patterson called for Graham all during the match.

WWF Championship Wrestling for 8/11:

Vince McMahon opens the show and  interviews Superstar Graham about Terry Funk and Pat Patterson. Graham makes it very clear that he will destroy Funk when he gets in the ring with him, Vince mentions Patterson calling Graham out, and Graham says that Patterson is allot of talk when Graham isn't there. Graham then takes a seat in the aisle and says he isn't going to leave until Patterson shows his face.

Also on the show: King Curtis and Baron Scicluna beat Danny Johnson and Max Tamboola, Victor Rivera beat Mr. X, SD Jones and Spiros Arion wrestled to a draw. Patterson no showed his scheduled match with Pete Sanchez, so Graham took his place and wrestled in his jeans and boots. Graham beat Sanchez with a Bear Hug.

WWWF Madison Square Garden 8/13:

Danny Johnson beat Bull Pompetti

Antonio Parisi and Tony Marino beat Mr. X and Pete Sanchez

Peter Maivia beat Pat Patterson by forfeit when Patterson didn't show up

NWA World Champion Terry Funk beat WWWF Champion Superstar Graham by Count Out when Graham couldn't get back in the ring because Pat Patterson who was hiding under the ring, grabbed Graham's leg! Graham dragged Patterson out from under the ring after the match, but the Superstar ended up getting double teamed by Patterson and Funk and left lying in the ring.

Intermission.

Once Intermission ended, Howard Finkel informed the crowd that when the WWWF returns to MSG, Superstar Graham will defend his title against Pat Patterson!!

Ivan Putski beat Spiros Arion

Tony Atlas beat  Butcher Nova

Nikolai Volkoff beat Gorilla Monsoon in a match that say Monsoon bloodied. Monsoon laid beaten in the ring after the match as Volkoff sung the Russian National Anthem, can anyone stop this Russian Strongman????????

WWWF Tag Team Champions Chief Jay Strongbow and Carlos Colon got a measure of revenge for what happened on TV when they beat Baron Scicluna and King Curtis with Captain Lou Albano to retain their titles.

Lots of good things in the WWWF. The Superstar, Funk. Patterson situation is very good and there are a lot of tickets to be sold with them. Graham will not sit still for their trickery. The Parisi/Marino team would have been very popular in the area in 1977.

Great set ups for Funk versus Graham.

I can't wait for Colon and Strongbow going against Ventura and Patera.

Love the set up of MSG card. Two mini-cards with an intermission. This was the way the WWWF did it, I understand.

Great job.

I love what you're doing with Graham, Patterson, and Volkoff. Everything is good here, but the Graham-Patterson feud and Volkoff buildup is great. I'd like to see Volkoff vs. Atlas.
