I would have to say a little of both.
 
Good: Because you knew they were always going to be there. They weren't leaving. I mean, David went to Florida in '82 for a while in what was a likely tune-up for a possible NWA title push. Kerry didn't leave until he went to the WWF in '90. They made shots in Missouri, but that's it.
 
Bad: Because they were running the show, Daddy's boys. That has its backlash to it, as well.

Good: because they were the local favorites in Dallas even if they would have turned heel for some reason, I think the fans would have still cheered them back in the day. They had good heels to feed to them as well like The Fabulous Freebirds, Adams and Hernandez, Akbar's Army. It was a very good run.
 
Bad: When the fans picked up on what was going on behind the scenes with the Von Erich boys, they should have built around someone else to keep it strong and going. That is when they could have possibly turned maybe Kerry heel for a brief time with Gary Hart managing him.
 
How they could have turned a bad into a good: A Kerry vs. Kevin, Kerry vs. David feud would have been something interesting or a Kerry vs. Brody feud would have been good. Just my opinion.
