WWA Championship Wrestling
WRTV ch.6 Studio
Indianapolis, IN
Taped live. Airing at 12 Noon in Indiana.  To air in Ohio & Upstate NY 9/8

New opening with Bruiser, the Von Brauners, Johnny Powers, Gen. George Cannon in action as Bill Conti's "Gonna fly now" plays in the background.

Camera pans the crowd and settles on Bob Jenkins at the announce podium.

Jenkins:  Fans, a lot of new things are going on in the World Wrestling Association.  First, WWA Indianapolis Wrestling is expanding to include all of Ohio and Upstate New York.  We are changing the name of our show to WWA Championship Wrestling and we will tour our new areas regularly.  WWA has done shows in Buffalo and Cleveland in the past, but now we will tour more towns in those areas on a regular basis.  We are also planning on bringing in many national and international wrestlers for you.  Some of the wrestlers you've seen recently have moved on to other areas and we wish them well.  We'd also like to thank Big Time Wrestling and Maple Leaf Wrestling for letting us use many of their stars.  With the loss of some of our stars, we have had to restructure our big show next Sunday.  Make no mistake about it, you will still see a great show and you won't be disappointed at all.  As for champions, Dick The Bruiser is still the WWA champion, but we will have a tournament for new tag team, TV, & Junior Heavyweight champions.  More to come on that in future weeks.  We are also looking for a new commissioner.  Many applications have already been sent in and a decision will be coming in the near future.  There will also be a new face joining me each week for Championship Wrestling.  He comes to us with a great reputation and should be a great addition to the team.  His nane is...Gene Okerlund.

Okerlund walks out to polite applause.

Okerlund:  Bob, it's a pleasure to be here on WWA Championship Wrestling.  I'm really looking forward to working with you each week and I promise these great fans that I will do my best to do a great job each and every week.

Jenkins:  Gene, welcome.  If you will, tell the fans about our big show next Sunday.

Okerlund:  Bob, I'd be glad to.  Fans, next Sunday, the WWA brings to you a tremendous afternoon of Championship Wrestling at Market Square Arena.  There will be 10 big matches featuring some of the greatest wrestlers in the world.  You will see, for the AWA World Tag Team Championship, The Crusher and Dick The Bruiser take on the Love Brothers in a 2 out of 3 falls match.  There are two added stipulations.  First, this match will be held in a steel cage!  Also, the loser of the final fall will be banned from the WWA!!!

Next, for the AWA World Junior Heavyweight Title, Roddy Piper defends against "Superstar" Bill Dundee.

No Disqualification as The Sheik battles Jerry "The King" Lawler

The Von Brauners battle Don Muraco and Rocky Johnson

Kenji Shibuya takes on Johnny Powers

Tex McKenzie faces Geto Mongol

Robbie Ellis battles Eddie Mansfield in a junior heavyweight match

The Lumberjacks and George "Two-Ton" Harris take on the Indian team of Chief White Owl, Bobby Bold Eagle, and Billy Red Cloud

and Barry Orton battles young Indian star Joe Lightfoot

Fans, this will truly be a huge show and tickets are going fast.  So, make plans to attend this big show.  We at WWA Championship Wrestling would like to thank
The CWA, NACW, Maple Leaf Wrestling, and Big Time wrestling for helping us get this huge card together.

Jenkins:  Thanks Gene.  That sounds like a great line-up for next Sunday.  Fans, we'll be back with our first match right after this.

Jenkins:  Fans, welcome back.  Gene is in the ring to announce our first match.

MATCH #1

Tex McKenzie  vs  Vic Rossitani

Rossitani puts up a good fight but Tex wins with a kneelift followed by a bulldog headlock

Jenkins:  Tex, that was a great win and welcome to the WWA

McKenzie:  Thank ya Mr. Jenkins.  That feller was purty tough.  I tell ya, I am so excited about being here in the WWA.  It looks like there are some great rasslers here and even more on the way.  I hope I can make these here fans proud Sunday afternoon at Market Square Arena.  Geto Mongol is a good rassler, but with these fine fans, I believe I can beat just about anybody.

Jenkins:  We do to, Tex.  Thank you for being here today.  Fans, after this time-out, we'll be back with more WWA Championship Wrestling.

Jenkins:  Fans, let's go to Gene for our next match.

MATCH #2

Kenji Shibuya  vs  Wayne Hammer

Shibuya dismantles Hammer within five minutes, finishing him off with the claw.

Okerlund:  Gen. Cannon.  It seems as if your "army" has gone AWOL on you.  This man seems to be the only man left in your stable.

Cannon:  Listen, Johnny come lately.  I will not be talked down to by a peasant like you.  Where did thet find you, any way?  A booby prize at the local fair, no doubt.  Yes, some members of my army have left for greener pastures, but I have a plan in mind that will set the WWA on it's ear.  The first step stands before you.  The Asian Assassin, Kenji Shibuya.  We have our sites set on the WWA title held by that wretched scoundrel, Dick The Bruiser!!!  Then, Okerlund, the rest of my plan will fall into place and I will be called the King of the WWA.  Good day to you, sir.

Okerlund:  King of the WWA?  Puhlease!  Fans we'll be back.

Jenkins:  Fans, our next match is in the ring.

MATCH #3

Eddie Mansfield  vs  Dale Starr

Mansfield puts on an impressive display of skill as he wins with the sleeperhold.

Okerlund:  Eddie Mansfield, what brings you to the WWA?

Mansfield:  Slide over Mr. Announcer, you're in my light.  That's right, baby.  The Continental Lover is here in the WWA and all the ladies are lovin' it!  Look at this face.  Look at this body.  No wonder I been gettin' calls at all hours of the mornin' from women wantin' to know when I was comin' to the WWA.  They're tired of lookin' at Bruiser's old face.  They want to see God's gift to women live and in livin' color.  I am here ladies and you can be sure I will make time for each and every one of you, are fat, ugly, or stupid.  Well, that knocks out about 99% of the women in this area, doesn't it?  Well, I'm here and I want a shot at the AWA World Jr. Heavyweight Title.  Piper's been duckin' me and I want to force him to give me a match by becoming the first WWA Jr. Heavyweight champion.  I plan on startin' Sunday with Robbie Ellis.  I'll whip him and then challenge the winner of the Piper/Dundee match.  Get ready WWA, 'cause the Continental Lover is here to stay, baby!

Okerlund:  Continental Lover?  Give me a break!  Fans, our main event is next.

Jenkins:  Our time is almost up.  Here are some messages from some of the stars that will be at the big Market Square Arena show next Sunday!  See ya next week for another exciting hour of WWA Championship Wrestling!

Show ends with filmed promos for the Sept. 9th card in Indianapolis.  Short clips from Bruiser, Crusher, The Love Bros., Lawler, Piper, Dundee, Johnson & Muraco air.

Thanks guys.  Building this territory is going to take time, but with the draft, trades,
and help from you guys, I believe WWA will one day be as strong as any area.  I appreciate the hard work each person on this board does and hope we all can encourage each other with feedback.  Thanks.  Mike.
