1st Match: Mid-Atlantic Television Championship
Mr. #1 Paul Jones vs. Angelo Mosca

What an opening match for this spectacular show! These two take it to each other from the opening bell and never look back. Mosca has the upper hand until he has Jones draped over the second rope and tries to run across the ring and drop his leg over Jones! Jones moves and Mosca's right leg bounces off the ropes knocking him backwards. He immediately grabs the right knee and Jones capitalizes by slapping on the Indian Deathlock! Mosca cannot escape the hold and finally must submit!
Winner: Paul Jones @13:23
.
.
2nd Match: "Special Attraction 1 vs. 4"
Andre the Giant vs. Mr. X # 1,2,3,4

The capacity crowd is in awe of Andre as he enters the ring! As soon as he makes it in all four masked men attack him! The referee calls for the bell and they continue their assault! Finally, Andre throws all four men off and then bodyslams one.....then another......then another......and then the last masked man!! They are all in a pile as he sits on them for the 1,2,3!!! * As the fans are going crazy out comes a huge masked man! He must be close to 7'0" himself! He enters the ring and attacks Andre from behind! Hitting and chopping the big man down like a tree! He then drops a leg over Andre's Chest and then lifts him up for a bodyslam!!!! The huge masked man taunts the crowd as he leaves the ring under heavy security!
Winner: Andre the Giant @12:09
.
.
3rd Match: Mid-Atlantic Tag Team Championship
Charlie Cook and Ray Candy vs. Ole and Gene Anderson

This is a great match going back and forth with some hard hitting going on both inside and outside the ring! In the end as the referee is putting Candy out of the ring Ole and Gene deliver a double knee to the stomach of Cook! As the ref turns around Gene makes the cover for the 1,2,3!!!
Winners: "NEW" Mid-Atlantic Tag Team Champions Ole and Gene Anderson @19:34
.
.
10 Minute Intermission
.
.
4th Match: WWC Puerto Rican Championship
Gorilla Monsoon vs. Hercules Ayala

The fans are excited to see these two stars from Puerto Rico! They shake hands before the bell and lock up as the bell rings. This one goes back and forth for awhile until Monsoon misses a big splash! Ayala quickly rolled out of the way and then makes it slowly to his feet he drops an elbow smash onto Monsoon and then another. He lifts the big man up and whips him into the ropes and hits a huge clothesline knocking Monsoon down! He then hits the ropes and delivers a big splash of his own.....1.....2....3!!!
Winner: "NEW" WWC Puerto Rican Champion Hercules Ayala @17:23
.
.
5th Match: "Russian Chain Match"
Masked Superstar vs. Masked Russian w/Professor Malenko

The animosity between these two is very apparent as they are strapped by the wrists together with a 15 foot steel chain! As the bell rings the two huge masked men feel each other out and then Superstar pulls the chain to bring the Russian in for a clothesline! He then begins to pound on the masked man's head with the chain! Superstar uses the chain as a weapon hitting, choking, you name it! He really takes it to the Russian until Malenko gets to the ring apron and throws what appears to be salt at the Superstar's face.......but he moves and it hits the Masked Russian instead!! Superstar clocks Malenko knocking him off the apron and then wraps the chain around his arm and elbow dropping it onto the Russian!! 1.....2.....3!!!!
Winner: Masked Superstar @18:43
.
.
10 Minute Intermission
.
.

6th Match: "Fence Match"
"Nature Boy" Ric Flair vs. Ricky Steamboat

As the cage is locked the ref calls for the bell and these two lock up! The crowd is going wild for this one as the feud has been growing all summer long! Alot of back and forth in this one with both men bloody by the end. In the end Steamboat is perched on the top rope and as Flair turns around he comes off with a flying cross body block!!! As he hits it and Flair goes backwards down to the mat, Flair instinctively keeps the momentum going and rolls Steamboat over top of him and is now on top!!! Flair hooks both legs tightly......1.....2.....3!!!
Winner: "Nature Boy" Ric Flair @29:31
.
.
10 Minute Intermission
.
.
7th Match: Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Championship
Tully Blanchard vs. Robert Fuller

What a great match, with each man gaining the advantage throughout! Fuller looks to have things in control until he goes for his powerslam and Blanchard wiggles his way loose and slides down Fuller's back! He is now behind Fuller and slaps on the sleeper!! Fuller tries with everything he has to escape but to no avail!!!! He finally goes out!!
Winner: Tully Blanchard @25:47
.
.
8th Match: NWA World Heavyweight Championship
Terry Funk vs. Chief Wahoo McDaniel

The animosity between these two is clearly evident to everyone here in attendance tonight. As the bell rings Funk and Wahoo circle the ring feeling each other out and finally they lock up in a collar-elbow tie up. Funk quickly grabs a headlock and wrenches it up tightly. Wahoo breaks free and whips Funk to the ropes and catches him with a big shoulder tackle coming off knocking Funk to the mat.

Wahoo then drops a chop down on Funk’s head……..and then another! He then goes for a quick cover 1…….2……..Funk kicks out! Wahoo helps Funk to his feet and chops him several times in the chest. You can see a small stream of blood start to trickle down Funk’s chest as Wahoo has apparently busted a blood vessel in his chest with those huge chops! Wahoo again whips Funk to the ropes and catches him with a back body drop and immediately drops another chop down on his head. 1….2…..Funk kicks out yet again!

Wahoo helps Funk to his feet and Funk rakes they eyes of the big Indian! Funk then kicks Wahoo right above his left knee a couple times bringing him down to the mat. The champion begins to work on that left leg stretching and pulling it, dropping elbows on it and finally flipping Wahoo over in a half Boston Crab!! Wahoo is desperately trying his best to escape and just makes the ropes to cause Funk to break the hold.

Wahoo rolls outside to the stadium floor to try and get the blood flowing back to that left leg properly and Funk is quick to follow him! Wahoo turns around and chops Funk a couple times and then grabs him out of frustration and sends him hard into the ring post! Funk is down and appears to be bleeding from a cut above his right eye as Wahoo slowly makes it back inside the ring! The referee starts his count again 1…….2…….3…….4…..5…..6……7……..8……..and just before the nine count Funk slowly crawls back in the ring to stop the count!

Wahoo grabs him up and begins the famous war dance while holding onto Funk’s hair and then comes down with a thunderous chop to his head! As he comes down though the left leg that Funk had been working on buckles, so both men tumble down on the mat!! 1……2…….3…..4…..5…..6…….7…..at eight Funk has slowly gotten up with some help from the ring ropes and makes it over to Wahoo grabbing the injured left leg and jerking it hard!! Funk goes for the spinning toe-hold but Wahoo reaches up and grabs him in a small package 1…..2……2 ½ ……and Funk just does kick out before three!!!! Everyone in the stadium is on their feet!!

Funk is livid and puts the boots to Wahoo and then helps him up for a vertical suplex! Funk goes for the cover 1….2…..2 Ύ and Wahoo barely kicks out in time as you hear a gasp from the capacity crowd! Funk again helps Wahoo to his feet but this time Wahoo hits a big chop……then Funk hits him back…..then back and forth with the crowd emphasizing every blow!! Finally, Wahoo gets the best of Funk with his big chops knocking him down to the mat!

Wahoo picks Funk up for a bodyslam near the corner and then climbs to the second turnbuckle and waits methodically as Funk slowly makes it to his feet and turns around!! Wahoo comes off with a huge double chop to Funk’s already bloody head knocking him back down hard on the mat!!! Wahoo quickly grabs a half nelson and hooks both legs tightly 1………….2……………3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NEW CHAMPION!!!!! NEW CHAMPION!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wahoo McDaniel has done it…….he has made the dream a reality by defeating Terry Funk to become the New NWA World Heavyweight Champion @37:21

The locker room empties as the guys from the back come out to congratulate a very tired, a very sore, but proud Chief Wahoo McDaniel!!!!

Winner: "NEW" NWA World Heavyweight Champion  Chief Wahoo McDaniel @37:21

That's a great, well-written, card. Wahoo was one of my favorites and I think he would have made a great Champion in real life. I enjoyed the Superstar's win. What's going with Andre and the masked man? This could be a great storyline. Again, a great show.

Even as an AWA guy, congrats to Wahoo McDaniel on becoming the NEW NWA World Heavyweight champion.

Great card from Mid-Atlantic and the night was capped right with McDaniel.

You did something great for Wahoo. He will make the NWA belt look so good. The show was the best loved the Flair match and SuperStar. The Andersons with the tag gold is also a good thing.

Congratulations to the big Chief and the Andersons from the WWA.  Although they are NWA, you can't deny talent.

The Andersons take their place as the best team in MACW, no question.

The coming out for Blanchard. Good to see.

The new WWC Puerto Rican is crowned in a great match with Monsoon.

The big man taking out Andre is going to spell trouble for Mid-Atlantic.

Flair/ Steamboat continues to be a great program.

Jones and Superstar with great wins.

Great way to end the summer.

Congratulations on writing such a monumental wrestling card, Steve! This one will be remembered as one of those classic nights in wrestling history. Chief Wahoo will make a great NWA World Heavyweight Champion and you did a fantastic job crowning him with that match. The whole card was full of dream matches, but the two matches (besides the World Title match obviously) that really stood out to me were of course Flair-Steamboat and seeing The Andersons get some gold again. It's great seeing Ole and Gene back to form. I am very much looking forward to seeing where MACW goes from here!

Thank you guys! It was an honor to be able to write such a show! Congratulations are truly in order for Wahoo McDaniel. MACW will miss him but we wish him well. He is very deserving in my book and I am glad that you all agree. I appreciate the great feedback and look forward to all the exciting things on the horizon for us all.

well...at leat the andersons and masked superstar won so it wasn't a total loss....
now, days later, i still can't believe you guys crowned wahoo....
rest of the show was great! every match was something else..well except andre's but at least it was what an andre match was in the '70's.

ok, editorial time now...wahoo has the chance to be a great champion herre. he needs this belt for a few months AT LEAST. give him time and the opponents to be the champion you want him to be, just like jerry brisco has become. look at all the differnet places brisco goes and who he fights..do that with wahoo, and it will be real good.
