Belltime: 8:30

The Panther vs. Akio Sato:
The Panther is a newcomer, a black man wearing a mask and a singlet with an African design. Panther and Sato wrestle a back and forth, closely fought match. They are so evenly matched that neither man can get the pin before the 10 minute time limit expires.

Pat O’Connor vs. Seiji Sakaguchi (w/Bobby Heenan):
Heenan has been saying that O’Connor will retire after tonight, but the former NWA Champion dominates much of the match by totally outwrestling Sakaguchi most of the match. Despite O’Connor’s best efforts, Sakaguchi eventually gets the win after an atomic drop at the 11:11 mark.

Tatsumi “the Dragon” Fujinami vs. Ox Baker(w/Bobby Heenan):
Fujinami gains the early advantage with brilliant wrestling. Ox uses dirty tricks and interference from Heenan to gain the advantage. Fujinami  comes back, but Heenan trips him to break it up! The ref didn’t see Heenan’s interference, but he suspects it and warns Bobby! As Heenan argues with the ref, Baker is going outside for a chair….AND ARNOLD SKOALAND IS COMING DOWN THE AISLE! Baker gets the chair and is about to swing it at Fujinami when Skoaland grabs the chair AND BLASTS OX BAKER WITH IT! SKOALAND THEN CHASES HEENAN AROUND THE RING AS FUJINAMI PINS OX AT 13:59!

D.I. Bob Slaughter & Tank Patton vs. Stan Hansen & ??????:
Slaughter and Patton hit the ring first. Then, Hansen walks down the aisle…..alone. Stan stops at ringside, turns, and waves at someone….

AND HERE COMES WAHOO MCDANIEL!!!!!

Hansen and McDaniel brawl with Slaughter and Patton all over the ring and outside the ring. Slaughter pins McDaniel at 9:57 with his feet on the ropes for leverage, but the brawl continues for several minutes afterward and all four men are bleeding! In the end, Hansen and Wahoo are standing tall as Patton and Slaughter retreat!

INTERMISSION

NWA WORLD JUNIOR HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH: Jerry Brisco© vs. Spike Huber:
This is a fast paced, clean match filled with moves and countermoves. Huber gets the airplane spin on Brisco and looks to have won the match, but Jerry gets his foot on the bottom rope at the last possible second. Brisco pins Huber after the Oklahoma Roll at 17:59. After the match, both men shake hands as they get a huge ovation.

Bob Backlund vs. The Great Hussein Arab:
The winner of this match will be the number one contender to Jack Brisco’s Missouri Title and will receive a title shot next month. Due to the importance of this match, Lou Thesz comes to ringside and banishes both Arnold Skoaland and Bobby Heenan to the locker room! Left to themselves, these two great athletes put on a wrestling clinic! Hussein has the advantage early, nearly pinning Bob after several suplexes. Bob works the arm for awhile, but the Arab takes control once again. It looks like the end when Bob is trapped in the Camel Clutch. Showing amazing strength and courage, Bob escapes by getting to his feet and driving Vaziri into the turnbuckles! This seems to turn the tide. At the 20:54 mark, Bob rolls the Iranian up, executes the Backlund Bridge, and gets the win!

LUMBERJACK MATCH: Jos LeDuc vs. Sterling “The Hulk” Golden:
The Lumberjacks:
Bobby Heenan, Seiji Sakaguchi, The Great Hussein Arab, Ox Baker, Tank Patton, Arnold Skoaland, Bob Backlund, Spike Huber, Tatsumi Fujinami, Pat O’Connor, Stan Hansen, & Tank Patton.

LeDuc attacks at the bell and beats Golden from pillar to post! Golden jumps out of the ring and the lumberjacks get into a fight while trying to return the Hulk to the ring! As the ref tries to break it up, Hussein Arab sneaks into the ring and sneak attacks LeDuc….stunning him with a belly to back suplex! The Arab drags LeDuc out of the ring and posts him! Hussein rolls LeDuc back in just as Golden re-enters. The big lumberjack is a bloody mess. Golden takes advantage of the situation and works LeDuc over before cinching in the bearhug! And then it happens…..BIG JOS LEDUC GOES NUTS! LeDuc breaks the hold like Golden was an 8th grader and then gives him a bodyslam! And another! And another! By the time he stops, LeDuc has given Golden 15 CONSECUTIVE BODYSLAMS! Then LeDuc gives Golden 10 CONSECUTIVE OVER THE KNEE BACKBREAKERS! Leduc picks Golden up for the bearhug, but he’s limp as a dishrag…..THE HULK IS OUT! LeDuc drops Golden to the mat and just sits on him for an easy pin! Heenan is in shock at ringside! Then….I can’t believe it! The Heenan Family heads for the dressing room, leaving Golden laid out in the ring! LeDuc gets the mic and calls for the Hussein Arab to come back and fight like a man…face to face! Baker and Sakaguchi have to hold the Iranian back!

Finally, the Heenan Family takes a powder, LeDuc’s friends carry him to the locker room on their shoulders, and Golden is carried out by the medical crew.

NWA WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: Jesse Ventura & Ken Patera© vs. Ted DiBiase & Harley Race:
For most of the first several minutes, the challengers beat Ventura from pillar to post. Patera tags in and he works on DiBiase’s head and neck, but then Race comes in and turns the tide. Harley gets several near falls on both Patera and Ventura. Again, Ted and Harley isolate Jesse and really work him over. It looks like the titles are going to change hands when DiBiase hits the powerslam on Ventura! One…. Two…..Both Patera and Race hit the ring! The ref gets Harley out. Patera goes after DiBiase….Ted dropkicks him out of the ring! Ted’s up…VENTURA KNEES HIM IN THE BACK, SENDING DIBIASE FACE FIRST INTO THE TURNBUCKLES! DiBiase goes down…Ventura pounces on him….ONE! TWO THREE!!! VENTURA & PATERA RETAIN THE BELTS AT 23:57!!!! But this won’t be the last title shot for your Central States Tag Champions!

NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH: Terry Funk© vs, Jack Brisco:

2/3 falls, 60 minute time limit. Lou Thesz is your special referee.

First Fall: Funk never seems to get on track here while Jack wrestles brilliantly. The World Champ gets more frustrated as the match goes on. Funk begins to bail out of the ring a lot to try to get his game plan together and break Brisco’s momentum. When returning to the ring after one of these trips, Funk goes for an outside in sunset flip. Brisco rolls through and gets the pin! First fall to Brisco in 19:56.
Second Fall: Funk gets desperate and starts bending the rules to gain the advantage. Thesz warns the champ and this leads to several verbal altercations and staredowns. Funk eventually locks on the spinning toehold, but Brisco kicks out and sends Terry flying to the floor! This changes the momentum of the bout. Brisco takes over and really starts working Terry’s leg. Finally, Jack applies the figure four! Terry barely gets to the ropes to break it! Now, Brisco is the frustrated one as he abandons wrestling and just stomps Terry’s leg! With two minutes left in the match, Jack gives Funk a double underhook suplex and applies the figure four leglock in the middle of the ring! Funk is completely spent and his only hope is not to submit! Brisco has the hold applied expertly, but Funk WILL NOT GIVE UP! Finally, the bell rings and Brisco releases the hold. This match is a one hour draw and Funk retains. After the match, Jack strolls to the dressing room on his own while Lou Thesz has to help Terry.
