Flair quits WWE, TNA interested
Sep 5th, 2007, 2:08am

From pwtorch.com -

Ric Flair has quit WWE over frustration with his push and a lack of any encouraging communication from the front office.

There are now discussions to try to talk him into cooling off and agreeing to not quit.

His situation doesn't appear to be at all related to the suspensions, although he's now more valuable with some names being gone for a month.

If things don't work out, it's not beyond the realm of possibility that Flair could be offered a sweet and tempting deal to be part of TNA's two hour launch. TNA is interested and aware of the situation.

WK ANALYSIS: Flair would be a good fit with TNA. Since TNA lost out on Mick Foley and Chris Jericho, they have roster room and the budget to pay Flair. At first, it might seem like a bad fit for Flair - and there's plenty left for him to do in WWE - but in TNA he has some compelling programs he could work:

--Flair vs. Sting in some form or fashion, followed or preceded by Sting & Flair as a team.

--Flair vs. Angle.

--Flair vs. Joe (just to say it happened).

--Flair vs. Jarrett (they could strut together!)

--Flair vs. Abyss (Flair could bump onto glass and tacks)

--Flair vs. Christian (imagine the promos beforehand)

--And perhaps eventually lead a group of younger wrestlers in a faction with only occasional in-ring appearances.

--Any of the above matches or feuds could also work in a tag team situation, which would put less pressure on Flair at his age to carry an entire match.

As for Flair hating Vince Russo, Jim Cornette hated Russo a lot more than Flair, and they've co-existed (barely) this long.

But I think the temptation to work one more WrestleMania and be in good Hall of Fame standing will tempt him to back down on quitting.

He'll make nice money either place, so he should be fine in that respect. Might make more in TNA, in fact, given how little WWE values Flair. Flair knows that and isn't going to appreciate having to quit to get their attention and respect.  Ric Flair has quit WWE over frustration with his push and a lack of any encouraging communication from the front office.

Here's what should happen...

Have sting get beat down by angle or someone really bad....

Then have Flair save him at a pay-per-view...

Build it up for a even bigger pay-per-view Sting & Flair vs. Angle & jarrett

Then at the end...Have flair double cross sting and beat him down with angle & JJ.

This could be HUGE!!!

It all leads up to another Sting vs Flair....

Throw some other names in there too...

I want to see malenko return, I wanna see Funk come back for some interference, Dustin Rhodes with poppa bear at ring side, and maybe even MUTA or Windam...

That would get me going AGAIN.

Wrestling has been declining for the past few years and we need some familiarity back in the BUSINESS!!

Thanks for YOUR TIME....WHOOOOOOOO

You better listen Russo!!!!!

Sorry, but I think Flair's time is past, at best one final pay-per-view to wrap up his career, and then a role a a manager or a role as Cornette's foil - say a commissioner or such.

If TNA gets Ric Flair they will misuse him like they do Kevin Nash.   Nash was cool in TNA when Scott Hall was there but I think what he is doing now is odd.

Flair & Booker would be two good additions to the promotion. Any chance Flair could be on the 2 hour debut show next week?

Booker's promotion is now booking TNA talent, that is a good sign for both sides.

Flair Says He's Still With the WWE

Ric Flair didn't say he's back with World Wrestling Entertainment. According to the 16-time World Heavyweight Champion, he never left. On Saturday, Flair was at Dover International Speedway as a guest of RoadLoans.com, the title sponsor for the day's NASCAR Busch Series race. During a press conference, Flair announced that he is working a limited schedule with WWE, and never gave notice that he was leaving the company. "Those reports were totally incorrect," said Flair. But curiously, the press release from the track that preceded Flair's appearance described him as "currently retired" from the wrestling business. Flair spoke in glowing terms about WWE, noting that Chairman Vince McMahon could run NASCAR if he had a month to get up to speed. Those comments stand in stark contrast to Internet rumors that he was leaving the company due to dissatisfaction with the storylines he's been offered. Flair did say that he plans to retire from wrestling within the next year, as he wants to spend more time with his family, including playing with his kids. "I have a new, beautiful young wife. She's very rewarding. I like playing with her, too," Flair said of wife Tiffany, who was sitting 20 feet away. Flair's quip was one of many that had the media in stitches. Fans hope Flair's WWE work can be similarly entertaining as he winds up his career. But Flair added that he has been given no assurances about creative direction. "They don't do that," Flair said of WWE. "And I wouldn't expect them to. I've earned the right to retire on my own terms, but I don't see myself as bigger than the WWE. If it works into a storyline that works with the program, then I'm happy with it. If not, we just walk away one day and say goodbye." That said, Flair has an idea of how he would like things to go. "If I could write that script, I would just say that I would be in a marquee position...I would like to wrestle a marquee guy, a big name, in my last match," Flair said. "Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Undertaker, John Cena...I would love to wrestle in a marquee position in a marquee match and just have my finest hour."

I would have loved to see Flair in TNA if they had been stil tied into the NWA. It would have been a prober retirement to se FLair go out with the NWA world title.. I would have traveled many mils to see that and still would!!

Im not going to be responsible for what hits next. Because, we dont wear white hats. We are not nice guys. And I can tell you this -- heads are going to roll! So, Ive said it. Be careful for what you wish for, because now, you have it.
