CWF-Punta Gorda, FL 9/8/77
Sep 6th, 2007, 5:02pm

Memorial Auditorium
Punta Gorda, FL
9/8/77

Opening Match, one fall, 20 minutes
Jack Armstrong vs. Eddie Graham

The veteran Graham works over Armstrong. Jack tries every trick he can, but Eddie has seen, and done, them all. He forces Armstrong to submit to the figure four.
Winner-Eddie Graham (11:51)

Second Match, one fall, 20 minutes
Mike Graham vs. Hercules Stevenson

Mike will try to outdo his father. Stevenson jumps Graham before the bell. Mike is in trouble. Stevenson slams his head into the turnbuckle. The crowd gets behind Mike and he rallies. He lands a dropkick and moves into the figure four. Stevenson submits. It’s a good night for the Graham family.
Winner-Mike Graham (14:39)

Third Match, one fall, 20 minutes
Juan Sebastian vs. Jimmy Garvin w/Great Bolo

The young Garvin has been very impressive. The first few minutes are even and Sebastian holds his own. In fact, he gets a two count on Garvin. This seems to anger Garvin and he steps it up. He works over Sebastian and wins with a suplex.
Winner-Jimmy Garvin (13:18)

Fourth Match, one fall, 30 minutes
Dennis Hall vs. Alexis Smirnoff

The veteran, Hall, has his hands full with the Russian newcomer. Smirnoff is a veteran as well and he seems to enjoy punishing Americans. He works over Hall early, but Dennis is able to rally and takes a brief edge. Smirnoff uses his size and strength to take over and he finishes Hall with the Russian neckbreaker.
Winner-Alexis Smirnoff (15:38)

Semi-Final, one fall, 60 minutes
Florida Tag Team Championship
The Manchurians (Champions) w/Sir Oliver Humperdink vs. Steve Strong and Ric Drasin

Drasin and Strong are a new team. They are big and well built. The Manchurians, however will match that with viciousness. The bell rings and it’s Manchurian #1 against Strong. Steve gets the better of things with power moves. The Manchurian takes to the floor to confer with Humperdink and his partner. He returns and tags in #2. He fares no better. This leads the Champions to get even rougher. They trap Drasin in their corner and work him over. Strong and Drasin are impressive, but the Champions are too much. Manchurian #1 clamps the nerve hold on Drasin and that’s it.
Winners-The Manchurians (21:03)

Main Event, one fall, 60 minutes
Southern Championship
Austin Idol (Champion) vs. Missouri Mauler

Idol is going to take on the Spoiler in Tampa in 10 days. He can’t overlook the veteran from Missouri. The bell rings and the Mauler goes to work. He pounds the Champion from pillar to post. The crowd is behind Idol, but that may not be enough. The Mauler whips Idol into the ropes and goes for a hip toss. Idol blocks it and reverses it into a sleeper. The Mauler gets to the ropes and referee Frenchy Bernard calls for the break. Idol rallies and it looks like he will retain the belt, but the Mauler lands a boot to the mid-section and the tide turns again. The Mauler smells victory and he goes for the powerslam. Idol blocks it and catches the Mauler in an inside cradle. Bernard counts three. Idol has retained the title.
Winner-Austin Idol (22:43)
