Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling "Recap Version": -Show begins with VTR of Chief Wahoo McDaniel defeating Terry Funk on September 3rd in Charlotte for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship! -Bob and David are standing with the "New" NWA World Heavyweight Champion Chief Wahoo McDaniel as well as Jim Crockett Jr. -They all congratulate Wahoo and he thanks them and all the fans of the Mid-Atlantic area for their support! He says he will make them proud as he travels the world defending the World Championship! With this new travel schedule he says he regretfully must vacate the U.S. Heavyweight Championship and hands it over to Jim Crockett Jr. He thanks the three again before leaving the studio. -Jim Crockett Jr., holding the U.S. Title, tells Bob and David that he will waste no time in crowning a new U.S. Heavyweight Champion........a one night tournament will take place on Saturday, September 29 in Greensboro, NC! Starting right here on television next week we will have a series of tournament qualifer matches! Eight winners over the next three weeks will advance to the one night tournament! Those eight men will battle for the coveted U.S. Heavyweight Championship!! -TV MATCH 1-Charlie Cook and Ray Candy defeat Mr. X #1 & #2 @6:12 -TV MATCH 2-Angelo Mosca defeats Joey Rossi @4:09 -Bob interviews "Nature Boy" Ric Flair! Flair responds about the upcoming U.S. Heavyweight Title Tournament and says he definitely deserves to be in it! He says he will do whatever it takes to regain the prestigious title! -TV MATCH 3- Mid-Atlantic Television Champion Mr. #1 Paul Jones defeats Jerry Monti with the airplane spin @5:14 -Bob interviews the "NEW" Mid-Atlantic Tag Team Champions Ole and Gene Anderson about their recent victory over Charlie Cook and Ray Candy. They say that they will take on anybody......and do anything to keep these belts! They also say they have not forgotten about Ken Patera and Jesse Ventura and "their" World Tag Titles! -TV MAIN EVENT- Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Champion Tully Blanchard and Bobby Duncum wrestle a tv curfew draw that was a great one!
