CWF, Tallahassee, FL, 9/15/77

Sports Stadium
Tallahassee, FL
9/15/77

Opening Match, One fall, 20 minutes
Buck Forrester vs. Juan Sebastian

Two unsung wrestlers open the show. The match is even until Sebastian lands a high crossbody for the win.
Winner-Juan Sebastian (10:42)

Second Match, one fall, 20 minutes
Ric Drasin vs. John Ringer

The powerful Drasin takes on the outlaw from Arizona. Ringer takes over using every dirty trick in the book. He kicks, punches and chokes until Drasin is in bad shape. The crwd gets behind Drasin and he rallies. He hits the powerslam and gets the three count.
Winner-Ric Drasin (14:40)

Third Match, one fall, 30 minutes
Dennis Hall vs. Red Bastein

Bastein, the veteran from Texas, has returned to Florida. He takes on the veteran Hall. The opening minutes are very even. Both men use scientific moves and the crowd is entertained. Things begin to go Red’s way and he ends the match with a high crossbody.
Winner-Red Bastein (13:47)

Fourth Match, one fall, 30 minutes
Steve Strong vs. Missouri Mauler

Strong has recently heard the cheers of the fans. That won’t happen for the Mauler. Strong overpowers the veteran and the Mauler is frustrated. He goes to the roughhouse tactics. Strong matches him and the veteran from Missouri is frustrated. He takes to the floor and argues with the ringsiders. The Mauler returns to the ring and the match continues. They battle back and forth and the younger Strong holds his own until the Mauler lands a boot to the lower abdomen. He is able to scoop up Strong and land the powerslam for the win.
Winner-Missouri Mauler (18:38)

Semi-Final, one fall, 60 minutes
Six Man Tag Team Match
The Manchurians and Alexis Smirnoff w/Sir Oliver Humperdink vs. Steve Keirn, Mike Graham and Kevin Sullivan

This one will be wild. Smirnoff joins the tag team champions and Kevin Sullivan adds a great deal of talent to his team. The match begins with Keirn and Smirnoff in the ring. Keirn dazzles Smirnoff with two quick armdrags and finishes it off with a hiptoss. Smirnoff’s head is spinning. He tags in Manchurian #1. The Manchurian maneuvers Kerin into the corner and all three men go to work on him. Graham and Sullivan try to help, but referee Frenchy Bernard stops them. This causes Keirn to take even more punishment. Kerirn escapes and tags in Mike Graham. Graham clears the ring. Manchurian #2 tags in. The match gets wilder and wilder. Sullivan ends up face to face with Alexis Smirnoff. The youngster from Boston stands toe to toe with the big Russian. Neither team is able to gain a clear advantage. All six men end up in the ring. In the confusion, Keirn rolls up Manchurian #2 for the win. Humperdink and his men are outraged, but they lose the match.
Winners-Steve Keirn, Mike Graham and Kevin Sullivan (25:28)

Main Event, one fall, 60 minutes
Florida Championship
Jack Brisco (Champion) vs. Jimmy Garvin w/Great Bolo

The cocky, young Garvin takes on the veteran Florida Champion. Brisco has a date with the World Champion, but he can’t overlook Garvin. Both men put on a wrestling exhibition. Garvin stays right with the former World Champion. Garvin gets a two count with an inside cradle and Brisco comes back with an Oklahoma roll for his own two count. Bolo shouts instructions from ringside. Garvin goes to the fisticuffs, but Brisco counters with two well-placed lefts. Jimmy bails out and confers with his manager. Garvin returns and Brisco goes to work. The next two minutes area wrestling clinic. Garvin is frustrated. He tries the dirty tactics, but Brisco is too much. He catches Jimmy in the figure four. He fights it, but he has to submit. A good performance by Brisco, but Garvin has nothing to be ashamed of.
Winner-Jack Brisco (21:59)

I like this show, it has some different match-ups that are kinda fun.

The main one being Jimmy Garvin.  I never would've considered him a top contender to Brisco, but it worked here.  Also, having Bolo by his side, that makes Garvin a very dangerous individual.

Strong as a face is starting to win me over.

Drasin with a big win. Too bad it had to come at the expense of Ringer.

I, too, was impressed with Garvin. a great contest.

I loved the six man. Sullivan and Smirnoff are great additions to the Florida roster.

Great show.

I just threw Garvin in as a heel challenger for a show away from the heart of FCW. I've been kind of biding my time until the draft. Then I'll know what my roster will look like.

Good show. I like the idea of Strong as a face. The 6 man tag was the reason that I bought my ticket. It featured 6 of my favorites and didn't disappoint in the least.

Brisco Vs. Garving was surprinsingly great.

Love the team of Graham, Keirn & Sullivan.   Also, that was a solid 6 man match up.

Strong as a fan favorite, now that's interesting.

I had a plan for Strong. I didn't expect to lose him in the draft. I was going to team him up with Drasin as two body builders and have Strong explain that Drasin had shown him the error of his ways. Strong could then turn on Drasin later, if needed, but alas it was not ment to be.
