SWCW TV 9/23/77 New TV Champion!!!
Sep 15th, 2007, 8:05pm

AWA/SWCW T.V. Show
Announcers Gene Kelly and Rapido Rodriguez
Sunday 9/23/77

Welcome everyone to SWCW wrestling. I am Gene Kelly alongside Rapido Rodriguez. We have a hot show for you tonight.  SWCW has a new G.M. by the name of Jack Kingman. Jack has held up all of the SWCW titles and over the weekend we have crowned a new SWCW Champion. A tape is showed of Studd and how he got the belt. We also have new SWCW Tag Team Champions or should I say old Champions. Rip and Swede got the belts back. A tape is showed of the last match for the tag team belts. On tonight’s show we will crown a new TV Champion. At this point the old G.M. Slick Ric comes out. I was asked to step down but I told them NO!!! I got on the phone and talked to the owner. I told him this was not a good move, that I had worked hard for SWCW and to take me out of the game now will crush this great group. I told him I did make a mistake with all of the wrestles from Mexico but to let me stay and show him I can help SWCW. He will keep me on with SWCW. I am the new V.P. of day to day opp. I will book the Champions and all of the TV matches. This will be my first test in my new job. I have booked this show from start to finish. So Gene I will give the show back to you.  Ric that was some big news and all I can say is fans lets go to the ring for our first match of the night.  “All matches will have a 10 min. time limit”
.
.
.
Rey Misterio vs. Dr. Wagner

“What a start to this show. The action was fast with a lot of high flying moves that has the fans all worked up. Wagner would show off his dirty side but Rey would not be stopped as he hit a spring board splash off the middle rope for the 3 count at 5min.”

.

Break
.
.
.
Cowboy Bob Ellis vs. Moose Morowski

“Ellis had this match all but done until Moose locked on a back breaker and got the win at 7min.”

.
.

“This was the time for Tito to shine. Tito had the fans worked up as their boy showed off his skills. Tito hit the big flying elbow smash for the 1…2…3 at 6min. 19sec ”

.
.
.
Break
.
.
.
Tex McKenzie vs. Dennis Stamp

“This was the sleeper match of the night. We got to see some great wrestling. Stamp got the roll up with a hand full of tights for the 3 count at 8min. Tex was shocked and not happy with this one at all.”

.
.
.
Rey Misterio vs. Moose Morowski

“Rey used his speed to take the bigger man down. Rey took to the air and hit a splash off the top rope for the 3 count at 4min. 41sec.”

.
Tito Santana vs. Dennis Stamp

“Tito was all pumped up at the bell. He was going strong and made fast work of Dennis with a drop kick off the top rope at 4min. 52sec.”

.
.
.
Tito Santana vs. Rey Rey Misterio

“Both men came to the ring and got a big pop from the fans. Both men shook hands before the bell. We could not have asked for a more action packed match. With this type of match all the fans are on their feet. We hear a loud TITO CHANT!!! Then REY REY REY!!!  Tito and Rey would hit move after move on each other.  The end came as Tito sent Rey into the ropes and hit a close line. Tito then hit a leg drop off the second rope. Tito hit an elbow off the top rope for the 3 count. Tito has made this a great match and has gold for the first time in SWCW.”

.
.
.
Break
.
.
.
“Gene talks to Tito” Tito is so happy he can’t talk good and he holds the TV title tight to his chest. Tito tells him how happy he is and will do all he can to make this belt stand for something.

The match for the TV title was great.

Mysterio and Santana would have had the crowd standing  at the end.

Hope that things would go better for Ellis.

Nice to see McKenzie competitive here.

Nice show.

The new direction of SWCW is great, slickric! Tito will make a great TV Champion, he's definitely ready for a good push to the next level. We're not that far off from when he got teamed up with Ivan Putski in the WWWF and I think he'd have been pushed much sooner in his native Texas. Great show!

Interesting TV show.

One thing, I didn't like is that the only interview in the entire show, other then Santana at the end, was you.  Putting yourself over, more then the talent might be the biggest downfall that you will have.

Good matches, but no story, no interviews and it appeared the show was meant to make you more of a star compared to the talent.

I was not going for that at all. If it came across like that my bad. If you had seen my news flash I put a new GM in place and let myself go as GM. People did not know it was something I did only to get myself off the show as GM(A work). I had a few P.M.'s with ?? like why are you not keeping SWCW. This was the last time I will be on TV and the only way to let the board know it is me behind Jack Kingman not someone new. I was going to change my name on the board. As to no story I have worked hard to give Tito a slow push from day one and got him to this point. I had Tito and Rey come down to the end only because they have been with SWCW for so long and I used some new faces on the TV show. With the draft , trades and my kicking 9 Mexico wrestlers out the door my Story lins got trashed. SWCW is going to start over and move on. I hope this helps.

nothing against you slick, i mean this as in wrestling in general from the WWE to the smallest of indy's...that is exactly why i have no intention of being or even having an authority figure on my shows. even here in fantasy land, i RARELY use Gene LeBell in NACW. and i sure don't want it to happen in my real life shows i promote. i want the focus to be on who is in the ring, not behind a tie. seems like every indy show i got to has a commissioner or something and they boss around the biggest of men..and we all know what vince mcmahon has done over the years..maybe i'm just TOO oldschool. i want the attention to be in the ring. and this is coming from someone who does not mind getting attention.
anyway, enough of my soapbox....

back to SWCW...
good show,. i was glad to see dennis stamp finally get some attention. that made the show for me.
